...only a couple ATs, I'm trying to be more adventerous and not sticking strictly to stock any longer? All goes with the "I'm going to drive my cars more" statement I've made a few times.

I made a similar post after installing mine. It is by far the most improvement for the dollars spent that I've done.

The GTS exhaust isn't that loud.
Not sure if the bluetooth headset will pick that up.

Well we may be able to add something even better.
I have a new short shifter kit that will reduce the throw by a significant amount and completeley do away with the front ball cup.

Why do you not reuse the springs? I installed one on my 84 and I've often wondered about the springs.

Vewy Intewesting.

Any chance there'll be choice of pivot points instead of mini-wrist flick shifts?
Sorta like the adjustable sway bar multiple mount points.
Just wondering.

I think the springs help soften the stock shifter. The short throw shufter is more rigid and gated feeling without the springs.

I like the short shifter but it's alot harder to figure out which gear I'm choosing now.

A short shifter along with new front ball cup and rear shifter linkage are THE way to go in a 5 speed. Very precise and short throw.
Eliminating the rear linkage fore/aft play helps more too. The stock part has play designed into it. Old news for many 928ers here of course.

Short shift is the only mod on the GT and worth every penny!

Chuck, I would add two steps to your nice list...

5b. Place shifter in oven for a few minutes (makes it easier to install)

6b. Apply lithium grease to bushings and linkage pins.

FWIW, I would say new bushings are a must. Sometimes it can be a real bugger to line up everything, and in the process I've destroyed a couple bushings.
