Hi everyone-

Tom Moore here. It's been a while since I last was here... nice to see so many familiar names. Those that know me and this GTS know that I am the previous owner. I contacted Rob on Monday and he gave me the bad news of his journey (almost) home. I'm really shocked that this happened. I purchased the car a little over 5 1/2 years ago from a gentleman in Berkeley. At the time I had Devek do a ppi on the car and everything came back pretty clean. The paint wasn't very good on the front end, but since no evidence of any accidents it didn't concern me much. I just planned to paint it and have the side moulding deleted.

I drove the car back up to Oregon and immediately changed the TB and misc. other related components. Also put on the Koni/Eibachs, droplinks, etc. from my recently deceased '87... some of you may remember the story of the jackass in the stolen car that took out this beauty in an intersection (police chase and all). Also put new cross-drilled rotors all around. Anyway, the car was driven a fair amount out at PIR and some will remember it at the Pony Express in '04. Always used synthetic... usually Amsoil. It didn't surprise me that Rob had such little oil usage on the way down, as it never did use much on the freeway. Driving around town was normal for me, and that's where the oil usage was. So I had that privilege of about 21k miles in the GTS over the years, and hope to be in one again sometime.

I expect that a few of you in SoCal will be treated to a beautiful blue GTS sighting in the not too distant future. Should be a fantastic example when Rob works his magic with her. Let me know if anybody has questions.

Tom

Keith we've seen your GF and we understand
Not what I meant...lol Besides, she's history now as I gave her the boot a few months back , so I doubt anyone in the 928 world is gonna see her again.

Back to the subject matter...

Greg...couldn't agree more!

Afshin-

The day job is preventing it this week. Mark and I are going to pull the motor next Tuesday so I can get the car out of his hair. At least we'll know where the hole is by then.

You going to add her picture to the "Previously owned" section of your signature line as well?

Maybe it's just a bad muffler bearing. I've been told they can leak really bad when they go bad.

Amsoil. That stuff is so slick that nothing will remove it from the ground....a mop simply slides over the top of it. There are no chemicals that will disolve it. Drysweep won't absorb it...it just slides off the top of Amsoil...and piles up uselessly at the sides of the puddle.

Yep, about the only way to get rid of it is to repave...and then there is a danger that the new road will move around on the old road.

Amsoil is actually rated, on the "slippery scale", slicker than Greased Owl ****.

I've been running it in my lawnmower for 9 seasons. Over 500 track days...oops...mowings. Not a single failure. Hell, I don't even have to add fuel, any more.

There is no way an engine could fail with that stuff, in the crankcase.

I'll throw a curved ball in here - failed oil cooler hose. Can't figure out how to put a x on the squares for that one.
