Yep. That engine is done. Who did the PPI before you imported it? I'd file a complaint with them and see if you can get some restitution. I hope you can get it fixed and continue to frequent Rennlist. Good Luck!

Sucks about the verdict Tim.

You'll likely find it more economical to part out the car, and buy another one at a later date.

The interior, various control units, body parts, brakes, transmission, wheels, fuel tank, and much more will sell well on ebay.de and locally.

Obviously the engine is toast, but 89 S4 heads are fairly saleable, so there's still money in the engine too. (87/88 S4's often crack around the head bolts due to a problem with the pre-89 heads, so they tend to upgrade to later heads).

Plus you can keep some of the bits as useful spares (e.g. fuel pump, LH brain), and you'll learn a tonne about 928's taking one apart.

Best of luck with it, whatever you decide!

The flexplate is pretty warped....And there is 3 mm of play at the front pulley. So the engine is pretty f*&^$& up. It's not quite the measurements I asked them to do....but I guess it tells me enough. It's game over for now. My next step will be finding a storage for the car, work...work...work....and maybe get the bearings fixed when I have the money.

Thanks for all the help....and I will keep you updated when there's any progression.
