Default 91 to 95 Window controller issues

Background - 93 GTS - Problems with my windows not working. Swapped out the controller from Jim M's GTS and everything good.
Old controller was # 928 618 240 00.
This number now supersedes to 928 618 040 00. New one purchased and fitted all good? Everything works apart from the automatic close with the key.
There also does not seem to be power all the time to the switches so you can close the windows after removing the ignition key.
Anyone else experiance these issues??

Roger - The window switches/motors should stay active after ignition off only until you open a door (except with Euro conig when it is also active with any door open).

As to the lock mode - don't know why that woud be...

possibly a broke DS door lock , try centering the lock cylinder by feel with the key . ( this may center the the alarm finger in the lock)
Then try locking the doors from PS with the window open so you can open the door and set off the alarm , then try locking/setting the alarm from the hatch.
Check the fuses try 18, 21 and 41

My gut tells me the new unit does not have the feature.
IIRC I could also lock and close the windows/sunroof from the tailgate lock?????

Everyone, please re-read Roger's first post. The windows quit completly while at OCIC, then suddenly started working again with NO changes or work accomplished. Then about 3-4 weeks later they quit again, this time completly. Would NOT work with the ignition on, with the ignition off (before opening a door) would not work with the key in the door lock (moved to the lock postition). Also the sunroof would not work.

I checked ALL fuses! Swapped the window controller from my 93 GTS and now everything worked as advertised. With the ignition on, with it off, before opening a door, with the key in the door and now the sunroof also worked.

Roger then ordered the new controller from the P/N off of both his old defective unit and my operation unit. The replacement unit has a different P/N and is obviously different internally.

Does anyone know what the difference is? Can the new unit be modified to make all the functions work as the original?
