WTB 8" Forged Clubsport wheels
Hi everybody,
To complete my "964 ultralightweight" project, i'm looking for a pair of good 16"X8" forged wheels and i think 928 CS and GT use those models...
Anybody knows where to get one of those?
Thank you in advance,
David

Good luck David, those are ultra-rare since they came on only one car ever made and only one year ... the 1989 Porsche 928 GT, and ONLY the fronts!! So 2 wheels on every 1989 928. That is all .

Yeah, you can take a forged 8" 928 dish wheel and have it machined to look like a CS rim, though I don't know whether the resulting spokes have the same contour as the 8" CS rims. There are a number of threads on this subject.
For the record, I have an absolutely mint set of 8" and 9" CS rims that have less than 500 rain-free miles on them since they were re-anodized. I will sell them to the first person that will pay $2500 for them (that's what I have in them). Feel free to laugh, as it'll likely be 20 years (if ever) before they will sell at that price, I'm in no rush- they're pretty garage art in the mean time. Sets come up occasionally for a lot less than this but these are perfect and need nothing. I'd like to see them go to a concours '89GT that's only missing its wheels but it'll be a long time before the collector market is ready for this.
Here's a shot of the real deal:

I have a pair of 9's to trade for some 7's
I need 7's for my Veedub
Rob, what did it cost for the anodizing? I was thinking about doing it but i think I will just paint them silver or white

Ryan-
$520 for stripping and re-anodizing. Mark A. has the contact info.

I need a $100 solution for this project. I think i can blast them myself then just use a can of spray paint....... $20 that will work for me
Any issues with painting a blasted anodized wheel? I think the blasting will leave the wheel pretty porous so it should stick
And once i get the 7's i need, I would be willing to sell the curbed 9" wheels for like $250 for the pair. Someone could have 16 x 9's all round for a nice neutral handling car, Actually the offsets would probably be way off.

Take some 928 S4 rears (8"x16 et52) and cut them out to match club sports. I have seen a few done, you shouldn't have any strength problems. Jig saw/metal blades/files/sand paper/done.
