you are building it in the existing rear deck lid? if so , this is only a stying set up. actuallly might even be heavier than the stock set up. with the rear part filled in, it will be interesting looking.
looking forward to seeing the final product.
we need a CF rear deck lid that looks like stock. those things are HEAVY!!

We were thinking lexan or tempered glass. We have some leftover lexan upstairs we use for the windshields for offshore racing boats, so that's ready available. The tempered glass is also an option since there is a place nearby that can but to fit and temper it once the desired shape has been made.

Any other options out there besides these two?

Marc,
Looks interesting, I would like to see more pictures when you get closer to the final product. Thinking about the Strosek.

Glenn,

I've always been a fan of your car. It's almost an honor to receive your interest!

Love the exhaust btw. Looks interesting.

The rear exhaust is by Fuchs, it was a Strosek option. Car sounds good wit it and the Motorsports catless X-pipe.

Hey guys - it has been a few months since this project has started! In the photographs of post #1, you'll see the missing metal at the top which led some to believe the window opening was actually a 'spoiler' of some sort. Maybe now the image will be more clear!

In these updated photos of near completion, you'll notice the metal work is all done and the design of the hatch-mod becomes clear! As far as details go, you can see how we kept the factory lines and stayed as close to a stock look as possible. It will look much better once the glass is installed and paint work is finished.

I'm pretty happy about how it has turned out! Enjoy the pictures!

Actually, here's the inspiration. The Strosek rear hatch...

According to your avatar neither of you are Rennlist members, which means you often cannot see pics that are posted.

Like this one here of the 2001 Hugh Hefner b-day party with his naked "girls" sitting in RuPaul's 928 (now mine)
