Default When to drive 300 km with fresh paint job

I am having my car repainted completely. It will be done this Monday. Problem is, the painter is 300 km away. I am a bit worried if the 300 km trip back home will damage the fresh paint job with stone damage. Should I wait an extra week or am I worrying too much?

Depends where you are. In the snow belt there is still a lot of sand and gravel as well as salt on the road.

No, there's no snow here, so no salt on the road. It's 90% highway, from Germany to Holland. Some smaller roads to the little village, but no major mud pools.

So you think it will be all fine? I did read something about that new water based paint dried quicker than the older ones. I would be so crap to get stone chipping so fast.

I'll try to drive as slow as possible and keep a large distance to other traffic in front of me.

stone chipping is directly related to how close you follow the car in front.
I would suggest to make the trip when traffic is the least, maybe very early in the morning or late at night, make sure to have a following distance of 4 seconds, that should kepp most of the debris kicked up from spoiling your paint.
Congrats on the new paint

Doesn't matter what you do, your paint is doomed to a slow and painful death from the moment it leaves the paint shop.

Fortunately, the cars are so gorgeous it hardly matters. lol!

Perhaps a full coverage clear bra -- do they make that? I know, I know....this is not helpful. I'm sorry.

But congrats on the new paint!!

You should be fine. As long as they heat baked it you can safely drive after 24 hours.

Yes they do make a complete car clear bra. There were several cars at Porsche Parade with it.
