As some of you know I have been actively seeking a 928 for awhile. ![ducking](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/icon107.gif)
Needed a Rogerbox because I have MS (drive with hand controls)
Was pretty open to anything but wanted an 86.5.
After a few false starts and a lot of seeking I found one "Off the Radar"
The other 3 PO's appear to have never been on a Forum or OC and she is not listed in the 928 registry.
She was originally purchased in IL, I am the 4th owner.
PO had her 8 years, never even changed a bulb himself, Dealership did everything!
If you have never seen 8 years and 20K miles worth of dealer maintenance & repair records it is about a 5" high stack of thin printout paper! (each includes diagnoses parts labor etc. and the $ are staggering)
for me
for PO.
TB/WP and the usual suspects all done and checked recently.
Independant PPI revealed a leaky PAS hose, bad CV boot and a marker bulb out, Immediately fixed by PO's Dealer.![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)
Flew out Saturday to see car and meet owner. Spent about 4 hours going through the car myself. (yes I visually inspected the TB & Flexplate (flat, shim/circlip is installed on this one))
Clear coat is a little sad, interior leather lifting at defrost and shrinkage on A pillars , small hole in drivers bolster.... thats it! everything else looks good and works. (see pics for a really old front spoiler with no damage...first for me too!)
I have never had a breakdown due to paint or interior trim......
Mechanically Awesome!![Cheers](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/beerchug.gif)
All documentation from original owner to present with the car. All options correct and on the car and working!
Traded some crisp notes and my dear wife jumped in to drive us the 500 miles home. Stopped at the first Shell for the goodstuff and added a bottle of Techron I brought with me (seemed like a good idea).
Wife has a very heavy foot! (on a first name basis with every Sherrif and Judge in Town)![ooops](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/icon501.gif)
Kept her to 65/70 for about 20mins while we both watched gauges and for any warning lights. Keeping my wife and a 928 driving like a grandma aint easy sooo.....
Let her take it up to 80...90...110 oh boy she wants to go. Tell wife to ease it back down to 80 as I know the tires are well treaded but not new.
Ok honey hit the cruise control.......
Bawaaahh off she goes heading for 140+ Fantastic! Brilliant German Engineering! all cruise controls should be set at 140!![evilgrin](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/evilgrin.gif)
(Vacuum or pin connector on brain all other cruise functions work except set?)
Settle back down to 80ish and she drives all the way home stopping only for gas/food, Never missed a beat. (23mpg for those who care)
What a ride, what a car I am soooo happy but..........
As soon as we get home wife (who has never shown any interest in a 928 or any of my other "odd/race" cars before) Informs me I can forget about this one! It is HER CAR and I can have her SUV!![banghead](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/banghead.gif)
Titled , registered and inspected today, letting her take it to work tomorrow, but thats it dammit. Its mine all mine!![jumper](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/jumper.gif)

Congratulations!!! You seem to be very diligent, and know enough to check things yourself.
I'm sorry to hear about your MS. My mom had it also. I'm glad to see it doesn't keep you from having fun.
All the best!

Now THAT - is a nice find! Sweeeeeet looking car. Congradulations!![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)
Might I suggest you send her SUV out for a good detailing since she'll be driving it more often.

Welcome to the madhouse, and lucky you - my wife loves the cars too! Makes all the difference in the world. Your car looks just like my first car, except for the year (mine was an 84), they'd be twins -nice find!

Very nice color combo, Congrats!
I need to get my wife out in the shark, then maybe she'll understand.
