Default Franken-Shark's new dual exhaust

Franken-Shark needed to get a new exhaust system installed. The 85 system was too restrictive for all the hp the beast is now putting out , but the 88 system didn't fit.

So, we got this nice setup custom made for us.

There's a lot more breathing room now, and it sounds F'n awesome!

We have Ed (Obehave) to thank for this incredible new exhaust system. Thanks Ed!!

Is something missing? H-pipe into two cats but no mufflers? hard to tell form the picks. Still nice work. Someday I'll get someone with skills to do mine in order to replace the piece meal set up I did myself.

Nice setup! I guess that's kind of an 'H' pipe?

Does the O2 sensor work OK there? I would think it would be out of the flow there in the middle.

I don't know nothin' bout exhaust stuff, but I'd be curious to see if there was any difference if you had a bung put in and an O2 sensor on either side in the side pipe. I know Kevin had the Split Second AFM setup, is he going to add that?

Can't wait to see/hear it!

Just as soon as it's Sharktuned. Which will be just as soon as they figure out how to work it.

Actually, yes, glasspacks with 2.5" pipes. With just the packs, it really sounded just right. Like a massive thunderstorm. Or war.

Actually, you're right.....I should have mentioned that since the install, a 2-in and 2-out magnaflow muffler was added at the end, because it was just a scootch louder than the police liked. So unfortunately the cool square tips are gone, but at least it's somewhat more legal.

The jury is still out on the O2 location, Mike. Already planned on adding a bung to check the theory.

All we can say is that Ed does REALLY nice work.

The O2 location is about the same as stock, just on the other side of the H cross-pipe, although it should be above horizontal (i.e., 2 o'clock)

It's a shame about losing the square tips, they do look cool, but I would imagine that wide open exhaust would get a bit annoying on a long cruise. I have an exhaust leak where my cats go into the cat back system and it's REALLY loud and the drone gets to me on long drives. I can't imagine what Kevin's sounds like with the SC install...

+1 looks nice! In one of the bottom picks I can see a corrugated roof WAY up high. Must be nice to work in an area that big. I'll bet Ed doesn't even have to walk sideways to get around a car like I do when I'm working in my garage.

I was just thinking that with stock, the exhaust is going to stick around a lot longer under all circumstances. I know the theory (kind of) of crossovers, X and H pipes is to have the gasses from one side mix with those of the other as they alternate firing. Something about back pressure maybe? With this wide open setup though, I don't know if the connection is doing that as much as it would be with the two mufflers in a stock configuration.

I'm just going by the little I've read about them and the fact that there is really an art to 'tuning' the shape and volume in order to the the most benefit out of them.

Kevin will need another bung in there for dyno testing and possibly a third for his AFM, so it will be easy enough to test, he can just switch them around to see if they all give the same results.
