he got spanked by the stock bodied NSX turbo! (big turbos)

the RX7 is a turbo. It is identical to the one SpeedGT WC racer that was at laguna back in 2002. The guy that he bought it from was in that RX7 on highlight video clip on youtube of the start . It was white at the time.

13B rotory with a turbo, but 2400lbs. he was killing me in the carocell, but I was holding my own unitil the racing "incident".

Pesky Miatas always get in the way.....380whp...it MUST be a turbo or engine swap?

Hey Mark - great to see you - sorry about the mishap. Here are some good pics I snagged though - couple of good ones with you in the lead of the Viper and the RX7

Great shots BILL, though it was Dennis .
Great to see you at the track as well!
I tried to take some of GT1, but nothing as good as those!
I just went over the times, the fastest lap was while being hit too! 1:42.4.
It was a blur afterwards, but that happend on lap 3, with a full tank!
(I still cant imagine running this without the long turn 11 like anderson would run on DOTs)
Details to follow.....

thanks again for the shots!

Mark - Hope the damage is minimal. Here are some more pics from the race yesterday:

Green flag means GO! These are from the first lap.

Here are few of the competitors in the ITE class:

This is the NSX that won the race. Turbo'd, 550 rwhp, 2400 lb. Add to that, the guy can drive so he blitzed the field for the win.

RX-7 post-hit

Great pics!!!!

There is some SERIOUS $$$$$ in machinery out there......damm.... I'd put the NSX around $150k....easy.... & its not like the griggs mustang is "cheap" either or the E46 racer....

That e46 racer is a BMW motorsports chassis. (Rolex GT) and , get this, many of the parts of the joey hand BMW racer that did all those flips at limerock.
Its basically one of the PTG Bmws, maybe slightly detuned.

now rylan in the S2000 has 500rwhp. top4 are gone unless you have mark andersons car to play with. after that, there is still some good racing.

Bummer........so like most things racing it becomes a "wallet" race.....bummer...since my wallet won't win

Hmm....if I manage to sell both my 928's.....AND come up with some serious cash....I still couldn't buy andersons racer anyway....oh well the widow will do for now!

Its fun to wallet ratio. do think nsx even had any fun? I have had races like that, a while ago. Its fun to win, but not like that! winning is fun when the top 3-4 cars all have the lead at some point in the race. Next, racing is fun when you have a "race " going on. My race was fun and was going to be more fun, right up until the "racing incident". Damn newbies with hot cars, THAT dont think!!

Mark:

Did you get the flappy vacuum line back on? It's hard to see the connector under the manfold, but it's POSSIBLE to get it back on. Sorry my phone was offline when you called.

Yeah, what was the "incident" and is there any significant damage to the Holbert car or is it just another battle scar like the Derek Bell bumper?

I suddenly realized that the flappy actuator is not a vacuum leak if open, the line is, so plugged that AND had a shade tree idea. I drilled a 1/8" hole in the flapply shaft. took a ferel and a hole through it and riveted in the hole with bailing wire to pull flappy perminantly open. nice to have 50hp back from 3700 to 5000 rpm!

Ill PM you with the damage report and what happened.

publicly tomorrow.

Here is a pic of the damage to both wheels.
I guess it could have been much worse, he could have centerpunched me and thats what it felt like when he rammed me. how he got both wheels, spared the rear fender and only cringled the edge of the front fender a bit, is beyond me. anyway, looks like the toe is the only thing out. when I put on the spare rear wheels, the rear toe was good. so, I suspect its only the front toe that needs to be set. it was out .5" and I did 1.5 turns and that got it to 3/8". Ill let it settle and put a few more turns in there to get it to 1/8".
