For those sitting around thinking about this, consider that this is a spare-nothing car. If I thought I could get this car past the smog police here in SoCal, this car would be a serious candidate for me.

BTDT Joe. Kept my Mammoth Lakes PO box in Mono county for a long time, even after I sold the house there. Gave it up after a lecture from my insurance guy when he noticed my Subaru ski/mountain car sitting in the garage in Orange County. Said he wasn't that interested in covering the car at Mono County insurance rates if it really spent its time in OC. I'd brought it down for annual maintenance stuff and it did really live in a hanger at Mammoth airport, but once that hand was shown I just gave up the idea and registered the Subie in OC. The car passed smog just fine anyway, it was just a matter of having a local address there on the registration. There are way different local traffic rules for locals vs tourists. Tourists get "taxed" at a much higher rate.

Car has to be smogged at change of ownership.
I have my car registered at my "2nd house" in a non-smog county, but keep it insured at San Diego rates. I didn't want to ever have a potential argument about being only fractionally covered because I had been paying reduced insurance rates and was therefore only eligible for some proportion of the coverage limits.

How much of the stock stuff do you still have? Was the short block a GTS unit?
