Default Tire Age question

I recently purchased a U.S. spec 1987 928S4 that spent most of it's life in Japan.
It has less than 38,000 miles on it.

The tires on it were purchased in Japan and do not appear to have any DOT markings on them. They do have markings on them that I believe show when they were manufactured. One of the rears has the marking EJUYJBH503. If I am translating this correctly, this tire was manufactured in 1993. One of the front tires shows H4U6CCE3502. This would seem to indicate a manufactured year of 2002. The rear tires are Bridgestone GRID 2's. The fronts are Bridgestone Potenza G3s.

Am I translating everything correctly in terms of how old the tires are? I would greatly appreciate any input regarding the age of these tires. If the rears are circa 1993, they obviously need to be replaced very quickly. Thanks!

I would not drive a 928 (at speeds of course) on tires over 10 years old... actually personally for the kind of driving I do - I would not use tires over 5 years old.

As to the date encoding - no idea...

Best to just get a pair of new shoes.

This may shed some light. Rule of thumb - replace the tires if they are over ten years (6 if you are in Europe)
