Steve,
I hope that '72 H1 is sitting intact on display somewhere, because that's a great example of what must have been truly a bad-*** bike in its day.
Cool pic. There's something about that "One Way" logo pointing directly at you that looks intentional. I think shots like that are how some people get nicknames.....like "One Way Steve".

Thanks. The H-1 was no longer competitive, so I sold it back in '77 when I started saving money for law school. Worst $500 I ever made. There's a stock one just like it at the Barber museum, but then there seems to be one of nearly everything.

Here are a couple of my favorite bikes I wish I still had, nothing really exotic but I had fun with them.

My Suzuki TL1000R

My Buell X1 Lighting with factory race kit

I ride a Yamaha R6 now, also have a Ducati Monster. Don't have pics of those handy. Can't wait until spring!

WOW ! ! ! ! ! ! These are some wonderful machines you people have!
I have a white 1974 BMW R90/6 partially hidden here by the 2 928s I had. I am down to one and it's still in the shop getting an engine transplant. (Don't ask- bad memories.)

Here ya go...

All Best,

Allen

BTW... I have a pair of Bates leather pants (Black with a yellow stripe up the leg) if anyone is interested (and can fit into a 28 waist). Email me and I'll send you pics. They are virtually unused. The leather is supple. I figure $100 plus shipping is more than fair.

Do you mean if anyone's son is interested?

I was a firefighter-paramedic for 20 years.
Ask me what we call motorcyclists.

That one is on my list to get someday as well as an RZ500, and I'd also like an '86 Gixxer 1100, while I'm dreaming.

Great bikes one and all guys. Really cool thread.
Ed whatever you do, do not under any circumstances wander by my shop anytime soon. If you do, you might have to cross one of those off your list

Cool to see so many two stroke fans here. Like Ed, I'd be into getting an RZ for sure.

The bike below is an exact twin of the bike I rode as a senior in high school.
'74 RD 350. And no, I was not a senior in 1974.

Reading this thread while listening to Richard Thompson's "1952 Vincent Black Lightning" on Radio Paradise....total coincidence.
The motorcycle ballad of all time, IMO...particularly for classic bikes lovers (as well as red-headed girls in black leather).
For those of you who don't know of this song, here's a good link for the entire song @ a decent bitrate (click the player in the right upper corner).

Vincent's IMHO are the geatest looking bikes ever produced; no frills and very purposeful.

I have an old Bonnie but it doesn't even come close to a Vincent. The Richard Thompson song is great also; he's a very good live act.

'74 RD 350............

Talking about this bike, I worked on one way back in '79 for about a week before succes..............no matter what I did I couldn't get it to idle but it ran quick and strong above 2k rpm.

The owner had 'worked' on the bike previous and had reversed the carb slides, LH in the right and vice versa so the back of the slides were facing forward allowing no air to the idle circuits when the slides dropped in the carbs with a closing throttle.

After 30 yrs now I remember doing the dance after discovering the problem ........somewhat akin to doing the tbelt dance when first doing the R&R project on the 928.
