I had the cheap knock off version of that bike...don't even remember who it was made by. Looked kind of cool (like this one) but had plastic rear shocks that I quickly broke jumping it over VERY BIG jumps! That would have been '76, '77, '78...somewhere along in there.

Had a Yamaha '75 750 special way back that I rode for 10 years then gave it up when I took up golf. My son finally talked me into getting an '03 Fatboy after 21 yrs w/o a bike and I'm enjoying it. Nice setup and can go from cruiser (bags/windshield/2 up seat) to street w solo in 10 min w no tools). No urge to push it (can't really), just puttin' around

Sold both bikes about 1 1/2 years ago.
They were Suzuki 4 cylinder 2 stroke bikes
1984 RG400
1985 RG500
Ran the RG500
for 500cc's it ran good in the 1/8mile 7.63seconds which for a 20+year old bike was fast in it days
and about the same as the stock mid 2005 600cc sport bikes.
Hanging on to a 2stroke bike running 7.60's in the 1/8 is probably way more wild of a feeling than a supercharged 928.If I keep the 928 longer maybe will find that out someday if I update it.
The hard decision will be update to a supercharged 928 or 911tt with all the new products coming out on the 928
makes it even harder to decide.
The RG500 was alittle under 100hp and 343lbs dry 406lbs wet.
around 50hp at 7500rpm then almost 50hp comes in between 7000-9500rpm theres nothing like that 2stroke punch.
Last time I ran the bike was back in 2004/2005
Everything I own always makes a trip to the drag races

For 3 years had a Yamaha RZ500, V4, 2 stroke. Too bad they were never sold in the States, as they were some wild bikes! A real giant killer.

I've ridden for years and years. Last bike was a 99 Kaw ZRX1100. Big bike, big power, didn't like turning very much. But we kept up with a ton of modern stuff on some east coast tracks for a few years.

My current ride:
A tame, somewhat dated bullet-proof workhorse. Kind of like the Crown Vic. of the motorcycle world. A great bike that shows its age design-wise
The soon-to-be replacement:
A sport-touring beast. 0-60 in the low 3's. I'm holding out for a used ABS model. I missed a mint '08 w/1,000 on the clock right under my nose.
You think my wife wouild notice a swap? They're both silver Kawasaki's & have the same number of wheels..

More great bikes guys. Wow.
Here's me on my YZ250 pre-Sunday morning ride, Super Bowl Sunday.
Had just looped it and broken off the rear fender, spark arrestor, etc.
So naturally I pulled another wheelie for the breakfast crowd and almost looped it again.
And normally we'd be fully geared up, and not ripping around our camping area, but we were the only ones for miles around so we had some low speed type fun.
Good times.

Anybody own one of these or know anything about them? If so, what's your opinion?
These are a little interesting to me from the nostalgia point of view. Probably wouldn't ride it on any long trips but I look at them now and then and think they would be fun for riding around town.

Drifting
I just added a 2000 Hayabusa to my stable, something I won't feel bad about modding and can ride everyday without adding miles to my 96' Triumph Daytona 1200. I already have a full carbon fiber body kit for it and will consider a big bore kit w/cams & headwork over the next winter. 220ish rwhp should be enough...for now. You have gotta' love Busa's, pump gas and daily rider reliability with that much horsepower!
BTW, the locals are going in on a group purchase of Life Insurance for me, like playing the lottery in their opinion with better odds.

BMW will give you a run ....
2005 BMW K1200S the 192Mph kills anything Japanese.
And with the secure German design no worries (knock on wood!). Great touring at high speeds, stability no plus ultra. Aftermarket paint and exhaust.
Will race and 911 for ......
we live together
