Is there a separate setup for the '89 - '95 cars? I didn't see a layout in the original post.
Does the intake need to be removed to install this system?

I drew my information from the link to the webpage for the 89-92 models. It does not show this option for the X version of the kit. From my experience, crankshaft rotation direction plays a very limited role in the direction of the crankcase vapors. I could be wrong, but the girdle assembly of the 928 engine would also mitigate against more vapor in the right side vs the left side. Volumetric tests from both sides would have to be done to determine the gas dispersion. That's beyond the scope of my ability to test economically.
One of the criteria for making a simple Kit for the masses, is to make it as simple as possible. IMHO opinion those with advanced knowledge like yourself know well enough to order the extra port and go thru the effort to RnR the Cam Cover and install it. If I make the basic kits too "install intensive" it scares the average 928er away from going something that will still be beneficial for their 928.
Concerning the drivers side venting, I am still not convinced it helps that much , other than to be used as a fresh air intake. Ken (Velocity) has done a great job with excellent results doing his ProVent system this way.
I did some testing myself for about 2 years during my SC R&D and as I said before I used clear hose to monitor what was going on. Yes, not very scientific, but pretty convincing for me.
Look closely at the pic below and notice the clear tubing on the cam cover ports. This was after 6-8 months of HARD daily SC testing. As you can see the passenger side tubing has turned yellow and the drivers side tubing is still clear. It is really hard to see because it is so clear but there are also 2 ports on the driver side. Again, not very scientific, but it gives some clues as to what is happening.
With all that said, I do recommend for advance users to install the ports whenever they take their Drivers side cam cover off. At a minimum you can easily cap them. But you can then at least try different configurations and find what you like best.
OH, be sure you order the right ones, some are wide open and some are choked off. I will add the correct part numbers and/or a link on the SharkVent Product pages for those that want them.
For anyone that orders a SharkVent (before I make these changes) just put in the text box you want the extra "GTS"Tee fitting", there is no extra charge for it.

There is a special kit for 93-95 visit www.sharkvent.com , enter and select your year model.
Intake does NOT have to be removed to install the kit.
Links to Install instructions for all models are on the individual product pages... except the GTS, it will be there later tonight. But you can look at the 89-92 version to get a close understanding and the GTS version is slightly easier.

That does look quite convincing regarding the vent of the left side. Where does that clear hose go? What type of fitting does it have to the right side? Because of the way vapors flow in a fitting, it's possible to have a positive pressure being applied to the hose that is supposed to be a vent. The partial pressures are a complex deal. It looks like there is very little pressure getting out of the drivers side. To check it, you'd need a U-tube manometer on each side. I happen to have a U-tube manometer(don't ask), so later if my car ever runs I can test it for you.
I understand about offering it to the masses as a plug-n-pray system. That may have marketing benefits that elude me as a mere engineer.

It is always a balancing act when making a Product for the masses versus one for yourself. Sometimes we get it right, sometimes we don't, but we will always be willing to adust the "scales" as needed or requested.

Hi David,
I'm not aware of anyone having problems with the standard configuration that I send out, especially since Stage3 was released...... Is yours not working properly? If the discharge hose is dry, then it is doing its job.
DR, if you want to make something that will fit on the MURF cars I can send you dimensions of what mine is all about, if that helps.

Sorry for the late reply.
My hose is dry, no oil at the discharge end at all. I was just curious, guess its hard to leave well enough alone sometimes.

Great product DR
Was in the process of installing my own designed version utilising the air pump creating vacuum in the sump. However your product has saved me considerable r & d , at a much cheaper price ,had a look at your site didnt the schematics for tying into the exhaust & utilising the air pump ,
did I miss something ?
Thanks in advance
