That's how mine is plumbed. No open venting here either.

Great, good to know. Did Dave supply the hose or did you make one on your own?

I don't have a Sharkvent setup, mine is part of the oil scavenging setup that Greg Brown designed. (Though the crankcase ventiliation bits are for all intents and purposes separate from the oil scavenging stuff.) I am using a Provent 200, however. Mounted in the fender where the washer fluid tank used to be (I added an intensive washer tank and extended the wiring harness up to the cowl area to control it)

Hi Rob

You did seal the backside of that weld from the rub strip delete right?

Just checking

Cheers

Hi Chris-

I honestly have no idea whether that weld is sealed or not, it was done by the PO's paint shop in 2006. If you sight carefully down the fender on the outside, you can 'see' the repair spots. Hopefully they are stable....

FWIW, I just want to say that I installed the Sharkvent on my GTS before I sold it. I drove it enough to find that this system works great and stopped the oil consumption. I still had some blow out at WOT, but what a huge difference the Sharkvent made. I highly recommend it no matter what system you use.

Did you have a pinging issue before the install, and if so, did it solve the problem?

Did you do the "as designed" install, or did you do some altering?
