DR, do you offer also the DIY kits you were mentioning on the first page of the topic?

Thanks for the replies.

I made a mistake earlier in my post. My dual fan setup is Motorsport SLC setup, not Carl's. Not sure if this is wider than stock or not. DR, are you familiar with this one? Alan already mentioned there is less room with just the C&R radiator that I have also.

We do our best to supply what ever parts of the system you want. I haven't turned down a custom request yet. Just let me know what parts you want for a "DIY Kit" and I will do my best to take care of you.

Mike,

The only real thing that creates clearance problems (if any) with a thicker radiator is due to the factory air pump filter housing on the 87-later factory fan. Since Carl's or Motorsports aftermarket fans systems do not have that AP filter housing then clearance will not be an issue.

DR,

I have a thicker radiator than stock now, do you have any suggested alternate locations for the provent for applications, like CS supercharger guys or other installations that for some reason wouldnt allow the unit to be strapped to the fan or wire loom retainer? I need to get my oil breather stuff ordered this week or early next week, so curious what the other options for installation may be.

Thanks,
Hans

hans,

Unless the radiator is more than 1/2" thicker it shouldn't be hard to make it fit with the original fan system. A little trimming on the air filter lid usually solves clearance issues in that case.

We also have mounts for the ProVent on our SharkBlade Fan system as used in our Twin Screw kits that mount it over to the side on the fan housing, see pic below.

Hope that helps,

DR,

I will probably just end up giving you a call, but I cant block the flow of my cooling sytem by strapping the Provent in the position you use with the SharkBlade (testing a new intercooler position there). I may end up changing the intercooler system as I have it now, but if there are any other possible installation locations that would not block any air-flow through the radiator core, that would be better for my current configuration.

Thanks,
Hans

Alan, what gasket do I need for under the 928 INTL deflector plate? They indicated that only a bead of silicone or gasket maker was required.

DR, even though I have the aftermarket fan setup, I am still using the top section of a S4 fan shroud for my intakes, so the air pump housing is still there. Hopefully it will fit without any issues. If not, I might have to modify my shroud or reposition it like you supercharger setup. Can you tell me the p/n for the GTS oil filler and price? I have a brand new gasket for my S4 filler, so hopefully they are the same.

Use the pre S4 gasket and RTV, sounds like you have a new O-Ring for the top side - GTS neck uses the same one as for the S4.

DR,
I ordered the Sharkvent and GTS oil filler for my '88 S4 through your website the other day. I was looking at my car today and noticed that I do not have the interface on my oil pan for the '87-'88 kit. I emailed you and Jeannie to see if you can put a hold on my order until we figure out what I need. I mention in my email that I might need the '89-'92 kit, but there is another problem. My oil dipstick has been powdercoated silver, so it is probably not good for a core. Can I just send you my dipstick and have you attach the extra fitting?

You are correct, you just need the 89-92 kit. Powder coated dipstick tube doesn't matter, they all have to be beadblasted before I weld them up, even the new ones.

Let me know if you want the SharkVent Dipstick tube to be powder coated silver instead of our normal black and I can do that for you.

DR, thanks for the reply. Were you able to catch my order before it got sent?

Can you give me a shipping address for my dipstick? That would be great if you can do the PC for me. The PC color was chrome (2 stage) which comes out looking Aluminum. Can it still be done? I thought if you had my old one in hand, you can match it up.

Finally, I put on my order that you offered to pre-drill the GTS oil filler for the X-treme kit. Hopefully Jeannie told you about it.

let me know
Thanks

Mike,

We have been stretching the Provent availability in the US pretty thin so it takes a week or so to get systems out as they trickle in from Germany. Hopefully soon Mann will have the Provent manufacturing increased more to meet our demands. In a nutshell your order hasn't shipped so we still have time to sort it all out. Giver me or Jeannie a call at the office and we will get it all sorted for you.

FYI, the 2-stage "silver chrome" is normal stuff for us, it is what we use on most of our Twin Screw systems and other products.

Default Sharkvent/Provent air out to MAF elbow

Is there anything against connecting the air out port to the Y connector on the MAF elbow? Open to air is not allowed over here and I'm not using the air pump.

Thanks.
