Ah, Jeff's car. He's a local, and the car is remarkable. Seach appears to be disabled at the moment, but there's already been a a lot of information about this car here.

I haven't seen much of Jeff lately -- I wonder how he's doing.

I saw something from him that said he was in the middle of a battery system changeout to lithium.

That's what he was saying when we all met at the karting track... I'm sure he has some new stories to tell. From what he was saying in the video about the group as a whole being skeptical, I hope he hasn't decided against staying in touch!

I'm sure that's not the case. His favorite part of the whole project is stuffing skeptics in that thing, tearing off down the street, and making believers out of them.

He was just embellishing the story for the interviewer.

At the karting event I think he said the technology was not available yet. Apparently now he's in the middle of installation, so the car is not running.

Awesome car. I think the 40 mile limit on the old batteries wouldn't work for me. What I'd like to know is how the cost of charging the car compaired to the price of gas for the same milage. right now that would be $3.30 here for 2 gallons of gas and 40 miles in my 81.

Hello all Rennlist ,
ok, I did embellish alittle in the video
But let's see...with current gas prices, $2.25 gallon. That would get me about 160-180 miles for those two gallons of gas. Not bad... Huh
Its looks like I'm going to loose just over 800lbs. In the battery switch, so once I get the new pack in I need to get new springs front and rear to get the ride height corrected.
The final weight should be 2,600lbs
The new range should be right at 110 miles.

Jeff

Jeff
2600lbs is VERY light....my race car is about 2900lbs......

110miles is enough for most commutes & easily enough for a daily driver

pretty darn nice, considering that the tesla weighs about the same!

Now, he needs a push to pass button to get the 300hp (225kw) when he needs it.

Lets see, if he could run 1 hour at 100kw ave. (full throttle for 30min), it would be 100kw-hours to recharge. I forgot what it costs for a kwh, but i thought it was like 25cents. so, .25 x 100= 25 bucks for a charge? (full tank for $25)

Is that about right?

I don't think so, because of the voltage differences...
