More Electrical Woes
Ok, several problems at the moment, just wondering if anybody can shed any light on the situation.
All Help Greatly Appreciated!!!

- The central locking will open both doors, but I have to lock them individually.
- The alarm is not working, it did when I disconnected the battery and re-connected it, but it was locking by itself when the doors were open for about 5 seconds. It eventually stopped self-locking, but there's now no alarm at all now
- The windows are constantly trying to shut themselves, even when the ignition is off. I found this by removing the fuse for the windows, and battery drain went from 18amps to <1amp

Sorry guys, it's a 1991 S4. Keyless entry isn't a common modification here I don't think, I only heard about them even existing on here! I doubt that there is one on the car...
But if all else fails, I will have a look behind the glovebox.

English 91 S4 - Has a "Porsche alarm system" NOT. actually has a Hamilton and Palmer alarm system (installed properly they were quite good in 1991) installed by the monkeys at the Porsche dealers before the car was sold new.
As recently as about 5 years ago Porsche GB paid H&P to reinstall said alarm systems properly on cars sold new in 1990 or 1991. Wether this still applies I don't know.
I removed the H&P alarm system from my 90GT - to describe it as having been installed by monkeys is insulting to monkeys. I've no doubt that the system was pretty good back in '90 had it been installed properly ( I don't consider wires twisted together and taped with elec tape as installed properly)
Get the WSMs, learn how to understand the wiring diagrams then remove the original alarm system - only tricky part is figuring out where, how and why the alarm is spliced into about 6 wires of the OEM loom. Once the OEM loom is back to OEM spec you then stand a fighting chance of diagnosing any faults that remain.
Things that will have been tampered with by the alarm installers
Fuel pump - either control wire to the relay or feed from relay to pump- probably 2 black wires to a big metal box on top of glovebox
Power to EZK or ZK relay again two black wires etc.
Possibly wire to starter solenoid 2 black - you get the picture
Wire/s to central locking module
Wire/s to window control module
Wires to interior light somewhere.
Permanent +12v, permanet ground, and Ign switched +12v
1st step is to pull out (but don't disconnect) all the various alarm control boxes and follow where all the wires go. It'll be obvious which wires are just sending a signal to the alarm and which are letting the alarm control something on the car.

This makes perfect sense, the windows could be controlled by the alarm and they are trying to close. Now, my question, the other week, I accidentally removed a switch from the car next to the handbrake, a so-called "Vent" switch. In the owner's handbook, this apparently was a system which mean't that the alarm could be dis-armed and the windows therefore left open on hot days without setting it off. Now, could the fact I have recently removed this switch confused the alarm in some way? I only think this because it's a system which links windows and the alarm. There are 5-6 wires that link into this switch, and I have NO idea which wires go on which parts of the switch. I would like to know which wires go where, the connections on the switch are numbered, I will have a look in the wiring diagrams myself but any help is really appreciated!
I would like to eradicate this possible variable in the problem before moving on... What do you think??
Cheers

Would a picture of these symbols help??

Does anyone have a pic of theirs wired up?? If the connections on the switch are numbered, are the wires that connect to it aswell??
