Guys,
What are your thoughts on Rotors and pads? My Euro '92 GTS is in desperate need of both. I know it is a SUPER EASY job (did it on my S4 and it took longer to jack the car up and get the wheels off than change the pads/rotors) so I am looking for suggestions on affordable rotors and good pads that don't dust as much as stock and don't squeal like Padgid Orange....
I like slotted rotors for the looks but I would take cast hole like 911T's had if they are cheaper...

I cant help you re. pads, but for cheap cast hole rotors (late 964 turbo IIRC) have a read through Mark K's thread.

yeah read through MK's thread till you get to a post by me on the correct Porsche Rotors.
Factory Rotors are cheap, and yes you want 965 93-94 911 3.6L Turbo Rotors. Its either in that thread or one of the other threads he started thats massively long about brakes. I think i first told him the part number 6-8 months ago.
I would say dont bother with zimmerman or anyone else for that matter when the OE rotors are priced the way they are.

Ryan can confirm for you Jim, but I believe these are the correct rotors.
The 965 turbo fronts are 96535104500 and 96535104600
For track I like the Pagid Black for street the Porterfield R4S are pretty nice.
Regards,
Ken

LOL
This subject is becoming as common as "will these wheels fit?"

yes, those numbers are correct. -046 and -045 are the left and right versions of the 965-351-04x-00
pagid orange are great on the street too, BUT, (BIG BUT) you need to bed them with new cross drilled rotors for absolutely no squealing under any conditions. (ive used them for 7 years with countless pad changes )
Of course, a softer pad on the street is fine, if you dont plan on visiting a track ever.

No track stuff for this car, or not enough to make me want "track" pads for it. Just some decent street pads.
Yea, I remember that long thread about brakes and I thought the final was the 964 Turbo brakes. Will look to find the best deal on them that I can get now... I'll take donations too! LOL!
Mark K. my experience with Orange pads has all been with factory S4 rotors and they were TERRIBLE unless on track (with regard to noise I mean...the bit like a Viper though and the car would stop on a dime and give you 9 cents change!)

mintex racing pads are real mild and are pretty cheap.
if your oranges were squeaking, it is due to improper bedding as they are very sensitive to this process.

PBR ceramics do well on all 4 corners for me with new x-drilled rotors on the rear, stock S4 rotors up front and stock calipers although the fronts were thoroughly cleaned when painted 'RED".

Front GTS Cast hole for $189.95 each
Rears are $136.95
Free overnight shipping to Austin.
Only Street Pads I recommend are Hawk - no dust and NO noise.
I do not sell Hawk as the best deal is from TireRack.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?
