For the fuel cell get at least a 20 gallon for extended runs. Fueling takes time as do driver changes so long runs are best.

Hmm....you have just about the perfect job to find a "beater" OB to turn into a Lemons 928....its even easier to pull parts out and list how much they are worth too.....slam dunk easy.... S4 wheels-tires, S or S4 brakes (but S is cheaper), I have an extra set of S4 wheels....automatic will work but 5 speed is better.... find a OB with a broken TB as a starter...then just add a $30 belt & it runs....not hard.... After all the interior is gutted and "sold" at listed prices, it would be pretty easy to make the car worth $500.....

I am VERY interested in this, but of course getting Black Widow running is my #1 priority....but this would be very fun too..... If you want to run a 928 in Lemons I'm in....my race shop would probably do the cage for almost nothing...since the owner wants to race a 928 in lemons....

Perhaps some used old aftermarket springs might just be available .....somewhere. S-4 springs are just slightly stronger than early springs.

Haven't read through all the good stuff here.
Thoughts:

Do the early 928's have that front brake duct/scoop like the S4's? Anyway to add that if not.
The manhole covers are nice and light but don't let the brakes breathe that well. I'm probably wrong on that.

Whatever the paint scheme, lighter colors would keep that greenhouse cooler.
Where's that Z28 rear window louver conversion when you need it.

I think a bright yellow race color with black skull and crossbones would be hilarious.

Sharks have that real LOW air intake.
Put wiremesh in that intake mouth to keep detritus from 'holing' the radiator and keep the bigger stuff out of the air filter.

How badly would a 928 drive with 4 8" S4 rear rims?
Think Porken's done it but think he had to use limit steering.

But the hardest part of this whole thing is giving up the perfect OB body...
Jim could find a S4 for the le'Mons, still be under $500, and not hurt a better looking body like the OB.
Just sayin....

Fabio, you coming Sunday?

The hood, fenders and bumper covers are not that heavy. Does the car has to retain it's general shape?

There is no way an S4 no matter how rough will ever pass for a $500 car.....it just looks FAR to modern to pass...vs the old OB style...that would sneak pass the judges!!

Mike,

Lets get together and hash out a plan for this thing. We need to make a schedule and a budget if we are going to do this.

If we paint the car camo as discussed, I think these would be a nice touch.

I cleaned out a 20 x 35 area of the garage, just the lemon and the Bear - that alone is a miracle!
Budget? I think Land Shark can be found for $11 a 12 pack....
Day by day.... I'm a short term thinker
I'm ready to start pulling the engine tomorrow,
that will only leave three out of the cars right now,
maybe we can confuse them and end up with 316hp headed back in?

Don't tell me in this economy you still have a real job...
Ooops - don't tell me you found a real job

I'd like to figure out a Pyrat scheme paint job....

Quit talkin and come by

I would like to make a quick trip to Tally and help Matt sort his out...
You in?

So satin black with a jolly roger it is.

I still have a real job. I may be in S. FL later this week. I have to collect some money from someone. I'll give you a call if I head that way.

Who's Matt?
