No one would know about the suspension or much care , the big brakes would be a plus. S wheels are strong , light, and cheap plus you cannot see the brakes . Tires must have a minimum TWR of 180 .... Cut a magic window in the tunnel to check and add AT trans fluid..... add an additional air to oil trans cooler. Gut everything that is not needed to get the weight well under 3,000 lbs so you can use smaller tubing I would run it without the rear hatch....

Kuhmo Ecsta XS tires have a 180 rating reads like it is close to a DOT competition tire which is a very GOOD thing ! Somethings you can save money on but tires are such a huge factor when it comes to handling ! probably good to sell the gas tank and put in a cheap fuel cell !

Thanks Jim,
We are starting to take her apart Sunday and will hopefully be posting some parts for sale!
I'm not much of a parts salesman - maybe that's why I can't keep all my 928's in a 3,500 sq ft garage

I wonder if I can buy my own headlights and front spoiler... hmmmmm.. maybe I ought to
I have plenty of S wheels - one set even has the Khumo's mounted
Please keep the ideas coming!
Thank you!

I'm picturing something like this when you're done...

Every driver signs a waiver... right?

Can you rebadge it so nobody knows its a 928?

Don't want to be fighting rednecks for the derelicts.

I was going to ask Mark if I can borrow the 911 number...
maybe the rednecks will think it's a cop car and get out of the way...

Big brakes...for lemons?

How about Brembo covers instead for $20. You'll just look like you're stoping quicker.

Aside from anything else the car shouldn't come anywhere near the $500 budget. I should be able to install new hoses, belts, steel ball joints, change all the fluids, and the like just from selling the headlights and few other parts. Well within budget!
Nah, you don't need big brakes. Just brakes that won't fade. We stretched it a bit because we swapped the original control arms with drum brakes, for Integra arms that were required for the rear discs. Zero geometry improvement and it was required for the disc upgrade. But we kept the stock springs/shocks, everything else in case there was a question. When we scored the control arms/discs at the pull-a-part, we also landed the right brake prop valve from another Honda to support the conversion (pull-a-part is like a Honda candy store). But we also did new rotors, new calipers, new SS lines and Hawk blues, and the brakes were phenomenal. Speeds? With a 928 you might see 100mph for a split second before hitting the brakes. It's a short track (they run the "club" circuit instead of the full one) so it's really not that hard on brakes, just make the stockers work perfectly and you'll be fine.

Cool,
That saves a good bit of time.....

Nice video Shawn... Made me GLAD were using the auto trans unit!

I know me, myself, and I will be there
It didn't take Kenny long to decide the black truck in the avatar was less of a chick magnet then the red Porsche, "no wrench - no play", so he's willing.

I can see a case or two of Land Shark appearing to wash down the turkey sandwiches. I know I can drink it myself, but some help would less'n the hang over.

It is going to be a nearly 3,000 lb car with driver and fuel at least go to S brakes for the ventilated discs besides you MUST replace the front wheel bearings and get rid of the aluminum lower ball joint carrier anyway. Running the S-4 upper A arm and early lower arm gives you a BUNCH of negative camber , too much so shim it back to about 2 1/2 negative , the tires will thank you and plan on changing the springs at the same time. For the fuel cell get at least a 20 gallon for extended runs. Fueling takes time as do driver changes so long runs are best.

Cutting the stock springs would be free and give the same effect, right?

To double the spring rate you would need to cut away nearly 1/2 of the spring .....

S-4 springs are double the spring rate of the early cars? Wow, I never knew that.
