You can not sell the red shark now, you've finally achieved the perfect scenario. Shark for shows, shark for track and probably one of the best DD's you can possibly want with the M3. Just be really sweet to your wife and convince her that she's made all your car hobby dreams come true with this trio.
Oh and how did you get plates for the black beast?
I am very lucky that my wife is so supportive!!!!! However like everything in marrige it comes with a price.......in her case a LARGE rock...... and in terms of picking the name of black widow.......she picked "black hole" :>)
I guess W/out the center console it looks like the original shifter. Do inspect the rear shift coupler. Mine was worn and I had tons of slop, in fact you could'nt find 3rd and 4th gears. It was all over the place.
Don't forget, I have a never used camera mount when your ready.
Charley
I'll take it!!!!!!!!! Since I know the original owner!!
I was hoping for trackmasters Friday Nov 7th...but it doesn't look like I will make that...so now i am hoping for TEAM racing Sunday the 23rd at Thunderhill if the weather is good? Otherwise it will most likely be next year.....
on the shifter...the front white bushing #4 on PET 928-424-017-05 is worn for sure...you can see the play in it.....I don't know about the rear one....but I will replace the bushing and the front mount with Carls kit...& see if that helps...if it doesn't than I will also replace the rear coupler too #2 in PET I think.... 928-424-029-00
AWESOME! looks great. looks like those 305s fit just like my 275s, as you have 1/2" more back spacing than I do on those front rims. I bet that would work for racing. they rub in the grocery story parkinig lots, but not on the track. I wonder if those would work. my goal is to run 305s up front next season!
Have fun,and let me know if you need anything

forget about the dry ice. real heat gun and a putty knife will take it off like butter! knife follows the heat gun and it doesn have to be that hot. 50lbs of crap in there, trust me. Ive done it enough times!!!

18x10x 9 inch backspacing front wheels......the 305's fit, but rub quite a bit...I think mostly due to the tall 26.3" height...a 305/30 would be far better...... I'm sure with 295/30's they will clear no problem, in an ideal world i would love to have matching 18x12 all around and run 335/30's on every corner to allow tire rotation....doing some quick math my rear wheels-tires on the front would push the tire out 2.7"....but with more room on the inside...no way that will work without serious fender mods.... Hmm....a custom CF fender perhaps....maybe a "group buy discount?"
now congrats Iceman ! real beast in all black... but still some work ahead... interior... junk that electric fuse board... rolcage... race seats.. steering wheel... hahhahaha.. you see, X-mas list will be long... hehehe..

indeed Mark, so done. Even the doors have that stuff... just cut away the inner shell and heatgun-knife ! Once your putty knife is hot , it's going trough butter ... only more work to clean it afterwords... best is thinner .. better then aceton
I know what you are saying now. it just dawned on me . no, actually, the 305 30s will rub too. its not a matter of tire hight, its a matter of the car being that low . I have 275x35s that are just as tall as a 305x30. the 275s i bet rub exactly like you are seeing. Now, go drive a very tight fast turn and you wont see any rubbing. rubbing on the inside only , right?

Whenever I turn the wheel more than about 1/4 turn I can hear the rubbing real bad, but looking at the tires its the top of the fender on the outside....since I can keep turning more....and the noise stays the same....I would think if it hit on the inside it would stop turning?
I meant, the inside wheel of the turn is rubbing. try and take a fast turn and do a quarter turn, and you wont hear any rubbing on the track, if you turn more than 1/4 turn, you have a big push anyway! (which you wont have with those 305s up front) I suspect you are alright with the rubbing, as it sounds and looks very similar to what i see on my car and i have NO issues on the track at all. only in the parking lots, or trying to make a u turn.

When I saw the car up on the lift there was plenty of room on the inside.....nothing was really close to rubbing....the outside edge appears to be the limiting factor....
The shop thinks with some fender rolling the 305's might work...but 295's for sure....so thats what I'll order....
