Default Track Shark is HOME!!!!

My 89 track beast, the BLACK WIDOW (but black hole, as in where the $$$ goes seems more fitting) arrived this morning.....

So I took it out for a little drive......its fairly quiet at idle, but once you hit the BWAAAAH it really JUMPS...damm is this one is FAST....roll along in 1st or 2nd gear and hit the gas and with 335 rears...like its nothing...effortless really...however RA1's aren't exactly grippy when cold.... Dropping all that weight (estimated weight of 2675lbs) really wakes these cars up!!

Gerry and I will take it to its new home at the race shop later today...buts heres some pics from this morning!

Awesome Brian! MEAN LOOKING CAR. Wish that was in my driveway!
Quick Question. the foglights have obviously been removed. Where does the ducting lead? It appears that there is some splitting of the air. Some to the radiator and some ducted to the brakes? I'd be curious to know. Thanks!

No lights at all.....its a pure track car...the front indicators & turn signals do work..

On S4 + there is a plastic shroud on the lower A arm that directs air to the brakes.....I don't think the hole goes anywhere really...I'll take a closer look

The car did have the factory cooling vents...with the motor removed...but the flaps would move by hand....so a little time with the dremel tool got rid of them & should add a touch more airflow to the radiator....

How did you remove all the weight from the car, these cars are like 3500 pounds so you took off like a thousand pounds?

Brian, thanks for the info. I know you jsut got the car. If you get a chance to see if/where the vents have been ducted it would be great info to know.
I've been thinking of creating some vents where the foglights go also, but without ducting they're only venting the inside of the fender? I'd be suprised if your car vents dump there. It looks like a very thought out machine.
Again, awesome car, I'd love to have a 928 track monster.

Easy to take 1k lbs out of a 928 by stripping it all the way down. Just get to work. All the interior has to go, take out the glass put in lexan, take out the dash (or most all of it anyway), all the sound deadening, radiator flaps, lights, wiper blades and motors...BAM! 2600#!

Car looks GREAT, love the wheels and how low the car is. All that wheel out back looks pretty awesome!

Congrats! We need more pics Brian, particularly of the interior. It'd be cool to see all the work that went into producing a 2675 lb 928.

I noticed it has a lic plate. Is it registered? Can you drive it to track days?
