Looks very nice... I gave it a good looking-over at SFest, and there is little left to do before you can track it. Seat, harness, Roll bar, maybe a camera and you're there.

No kidding
You can not sell the red shark now, you've finally achieved the perfect scenario. Shark for shows, shark for track and probably one of the best DD's you can possibly want with the M3. Just be really sweet to your wife and convince her that she's made all your car hobby dreams come true with this trio.
Oh and how did you get plates for the black beast?
The car did have the factory cooling vents...with the motor removed...but the flaps would move by hand....so a little time with the dremel tool got rid of them & should add a touch more airflow to the radiator....
Don't bother with the Dremel, just take out the whole thing frame/flaps and all. Easy to do, I did it on mine.
Stop by my place on the way up so I can take it for a spin too
Hey Brian,
Congratulations, I saw it at Sharktoberfest 08, and it is even more impressive in person The damn thing looked fast just sitting there at 928Intl. It has to be really exciting taking it on the track Good luck
Congrats! We need more pics Brian, particularly of the interior. It'd be cool to see all the work that went into producing a 2675 lb 928.
I noticed it has a lic plate. Is it registered? Can you drive it to track days?
Dennis
Its GUTTED..big time...but still has the stock battery (48lbs) and all the tar sound deadening.... I'll post some pics.....it does have a lexan rear window that rattles something horrible.....and the doors are cut open quite a bit....I was told it was 2705lbs before they took out the headlights and welded them over (which weigh about 29lbs) But that was with probably a 10lb CF seat too...
I am working with the shop to cut out the old battery box-spare tire well and moving an lightweight battery to the passenger side rear seat...they will remove as much sound deadening as they can using the dry ice technique...
What really impresses me the most about this car is how FAST it is....I mean DAMM its got power for a totally stock S4 motor with just exhaust mods....and boy does it sound sweet when you get on the gas!!!!
It is registered in CA, but is due for a smog check which it would never pass.....so it will have to be trailered...however I am working on a tricky solution to make it "street" legal
What a riot! I seriously considered a 928 for track work prior to getting my car. At the time a car like yours was not available, otherwise who knows...
The interior is like a blank canvas. You can outift however you'd like which I think is key when owning a track car.
Greg
already has one from Carl, or at least I think it does since its red like Carls....but there is a bunch of slop in it....I think the front coupler and bushing are worn out..... The shifter will move up and down about 1/2"
Other than the slight slop...the short shifter is by far the best 5 speed 928 I have driven...once you get through the slop its very easy to shift.....and since this thing FLYS through the gears....quick shifting is a requirement!!!
