'82 Porsche 928 Clutch Problem? Grinding! Help!
I bought a 82 porsche 928 that was sitting in a garage and not driven since 1994. We put in a new fuel pump and new fuel relay, put in new coolant and new oil. Everything was dryed out. I now have the car running and when I try to put it in gear it grinds right away. Not sure what this means. The clutch is separating from the flywheel correctly. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried putting the car in gear and starting it with the clutch depressed?
Sometimes the surface sticks and this may alleviate the problem.

Grinds in any gear. Oh , I also have a red light above my radio with an exclamation point lit and stays on as soon as the car is started and does not go off. Car did not come with a manual for me to look it up. Slave cylinder was bleed and some air came out and it seemed to help a bit, but not much. Putting car in gear and then starting the car did work in reverse and in 1st gear, but would grind (sounds like teeth grinding or metal slipping over bumps) if I try to put into a different gear. I found the dot-3 container and cover is cracked and it looks full. Will try to flush.

Open your inspection hole and look at your clutch to check for its condition.
You dash should have a indicator lamp on if your central warning lamp is on.
When you turn on your car to start does all the lamps light. Pay close attention to the timing belt lamp or brake circuit warning lamp, that can trigger your ! lamp.

Possibly, intermediate plate adjustment. This is determined if once you get going, shifting is fairly easy. If it is still very hard, its probably synchros. (or not full clutch engagement. If the pedal is up top and give full travel, its probaby not the issue)

if the car sat for awhile i'm thinking some corrosion on the clutch and plates just hanging things up prolly needs a good drive give a the cluch a couple of good slide situations wear off some of that corrosion

On older cars, I believe that you have to manually push the exclaimation point button to make it go off. It should come on every time you start the car. Once the car is started and the button pushed, the light should stay off. If it doesn't stay off or comes back on while the car is running, then it is notifying you of a problem.
Munoz, where are you located? Lots of people around to help if we know where you are.

I know this is an old post but i have a barn find that i just got running but now I am having the same issue.... bled everything but I am still getting grinding... How did you exactly pry the plates apart? I don't want to brake anything.

Set the E brake ,
Put the trans in 3rd gear,
put your foot on the brake.
Press the clutch pedal to the floor,
Crank the engine,
this should break the clutch free.
if it starts and runs.
Shut it off.
put in 1st then repeat the procedure.
With the engine running , and the pedal down, and in gear
let the clutch out a bit till it starts to grab, then push it down do this a few times .
this will wear off the corrosion of the plates. Then take it for a drive .
NOTE if you cant get the shifter into gear while its running.
shut it off,
put it into first gear,
then push the pedal down,
Start it then drive off.
If still no good then the clutch may have to be removed to inspect all of the parts ,
or the system may need new hydraulic parts

Thanks for the advice. I got her into gear but first and reverse are very difficult at a stop. I believe maybe the intermediate disc needs to be adjusted?
*Update... stuck in 2nd gear and gear shifter has a ton of play forward and backwards. I cannot move the shifter left or right. I am assuming my shift coupler exploded/broke???
