In my 88S4 (prior to the GT) - Daily Driver for a couple of years. Besides maintenance - only let me down once.

I have been using my car as a daily driver up until a couple of months ago when I started riding my bicycle to work, and driving in only one day a week. Once sorted out these cars are extremely reliable, especially the CIS cars IMHO. There was a nice 82(?) 5spd at 928I last weekend, $3200 and IIRC it had fresh brakes, radiator, and a ton of other parts. It had a few minor DIY issues, like headlight bucket alignment, there was a tear in the driver seat, etc. but overall it seemed well worth the $. Eric from Colorado and Connie McNabb traded off driving it on the fun run with no issues.

Which one? That's the problem when you have more than 1 of them. As it's been said 100's of times, if maintained properly, you have a lifetime car that will run for a good 300,000 miles. Very dependable and MUST be driven on a regular basis as previously stated.

Hmm interesting. I was trying to save up and hold out for a later model car (I love buttons and features and lots of flashly light ). But seeing as though I'm in need of a car now anyway ... Cosmetics aren't super important to me at this time, just reliability. Theres a red one on the SF craigslist right now for about 3K, that looks actually really nice. Allegedly runs great and has lots o' new parts. Might be worth a look: Here ya go .... http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/891270636.html

"Needs some care" could be anything; get a PPI. For the price, I'd go get the one at 928 International. I was impressed with it too last weekend. Thought it was a steal.

So is this car still available? If so, how do I find it

Call 928 International. Whether or not they still have it on-site, they will be able to point you in thee right direction. Oh, BTW it was also missing the front spoiler.

I drive mine to work everyday and am loving it! The 928 has been a very reliable car over the last 8 months since it became my daily driver on a 7 mile commute one way. Sure makes going to work a little more exciting too!

I don't drive mine every day, but I do drive it about 4-5 times per week.

Wife drives hers as her only mode of transportation, 4 days a week to work, about 30 miles round trip. Mine is not my main vehicle, although I've driven it daily this past week, & its sitting in front of my office now. I agree that they love to be driven, but you'd better keep up with the maintenance too or at some point you'll be hatin life!

This is the first year that's it's actually served as a daily driver. Seven months with no major issues, but the plates expire tomorrow and it gets put away for the winter.
