Keeping up with thread is like my daily **** fix... Exciting while I'm reading it, but always left wanting more...

The graphics plan looks great! I have mixed feelings about carls body kit. There are parts I like and parts I don't. But I have always thought it would look much better covered in graphics or at least solid black. It should look great with your plan.

I'd expect that the sleeve is an interference fit, gently pressed in there onto the locating collar step machined into the top of the bore, perhaps warm the block and chill the liners before assembly, press them in, and machine to a finish. Should work fine.

I'm sure professional machine shops don't even know what JB weld is.

Cheers Roy

Norbert,
Do tell us when you will do your first outing (Zolder?). I need to see this work of art in real life.
Subliem project.

Hi Norbert,
Just caught this thread. Man you did a hell of a job.
I'm the belgian guy with the gregbbrd 'sleeper' gts (still running strong, scaringly so)
I love 928's on track. I saw Jerry's car a few times at Zolder.
As Kris said, give a shout when you're on. I'd love to cheer you on.

it's indeed a press fit , heating the block and chilling the liners...also the sleeves are 5/100 mm above deck to be pressed extra with the heads/gaskets.

Meanwhile been on holiday so i must restart my 928 projects

hi, not that much further...

Ok, we went a month holiday in South France... now back to the 928's....

The grey one must be the first to run..( a bit my mule ) but changed on the rebuild engine to a single plate clutch... mouting it we found out that we needed another type fork...got it, engine almost in the car... now we need another type bellhousing...is ordered and we are waiting... soon.

The white car is for next year... due alot of work my engine builder got my permission to wait with the build further till after the race season...

hope to be soon on track !

More details please.

- sleeves were puchased from?
- sleeve wall thickness?
- diameter difference between block and sleeve?
