Shark Attack and Mrmerlin,
Yea I hear ya about the car possibly frying someone else's LH, I'd be fine sending mine to someone for them to try, I have actually sent my LH to John @JDSPorsche before about 2 years ago when i was having another no-start problem. Turns out it tested fine and although I thought the injectors were being held open, actually the fuel pressure regulator had ripped and fuel was pumping into the intake via the vacuum lines.

ps Mrmerlin your car looks great with the rear wing delete

Jacob thanks for your kind words, but the wing is still in place.
If you ask you will find someone willing to test you parts on their car, it just involves might involve some shipping and then you can rule out defective or working parts without wasting too much of your time or money

If you take the airbox off, what's the condition of the 3-pin plug from the crank position sensor (top centre of the bell housing)? Could be a crack in the connector there with loose wire causing the problem (happened to mine - they crumble to pieces with age).

Hey guys a lil update..
Ive been so busy thanks to my grad mid terms which have been tons of fun. I have had the car on a battery tender and havn'[t really looked at it since a few weeks ago. I tried jumping the fuel pump relay which definitely works and I absolutely have spark. I havn't mentioned that before the car stopped working I would have trouble and it wouldn't start in the park selector and I had to move it to the neutral cog. I havnt gotten her to do anything except crank over except today after sitting for a week or two it started first try and ran for 2-3 seconds then shut off like before and just cranks. I have a suspicion that its not the computer or the maf but something else. Thanks again for any info.

Well Im not sure how the LH goes but I got the impression it would act funny then be dead because the chip would fail. And same with the MAF act funny. Before it died that one day it was running perfectly. Today when the car started for the 2-3 seconds it did it sounded as strong as ever and then like someone turned off the key. It seems like a switch somewhere is like acting up either off or on now but when it first broke down it was like a switch was off-on-off-on-off as tho it wanted to run but was being held back. I duno just a thought.
As always thanks again

So, when you jump the fuel pump relay (pins 30-87), can you hear the fuel pump running even with the key off and after it fails to start.

Bill,
When I tried this I realized that I couldn't hear the fuel pump, I took off the cover and gave the pump a rap with a wrench and it started buzzing immediately. It seems like the brushes are bad, when I rap on it while running the pitch changes but it still does not sounds nearly as loud as it did when the car was running. Even when the pump runs I cannot get the car to start it still just cranks. If I have the fuel pump jumped and running, under the hood on the passenger side fuel rail it seems like I hear a flow, there are no leaks and I don't smell gas but I hear fluid pumping, is this fuel pumping through a return line? or is something worng? Thanks again guys.

yes its fuel pumping through the lines the fuel that isnt used on the first pass gets rerouted back to the fuel tank for another go around.
One word of caution dont hit, drop, hammer, grab with pliers or otherwise do anything to the fuel pump.......... any kind of metallic hit on the side can either cause the internal magnets to crack or shatter and you can also damage the aluminum housing and cause a leak
