I have a nice hanger that we can probably move some stuff around in and I certainly don't mind a few extra sharks around as long as they have automatic transmission and I get to drive them of course! LOL! Good luck to all in the way of this little bugger!

"we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender."...............Winston Churchill, Battle of Britain.
Stay safe Ken, aye.

I'm 60+ miles from the coast, and as of this time, they are still predicting hurricane force winds for 6 hours and tropical force winds for 24 hours. Living in a place called "The Woodlands" the biggest concern is the sheer number of trees and the damage caused by falling limbs etc.
Gas stations are running out of gas and in others the lines are out into the road. I filled up all our vehicles earlier this week and have an additional 35 gallons in the garage.
Unfortunately, both sharks will be left out of the garage - flooding is not a concern here - it wil be the flying debris.
Keeping a close eye on the storm track, but it is narrowing by the hour. As it stands it look as if the eye will come very close to us, but keeping us on the "dirty" side.

I'm still here - just some gusts of 35 mph - a non-event so far. Just came inside from watching a spectacular sunset.
We have a generator if the power goes out, and I have wireless internet access should my DSL go down. So far, it looks as if this will be more of a storm surge event, but it is early days yet.
Reports of many folks stranded on rooftops in Galveston & Seabrook with rescues not possible.
My wife's K9 Search & Recovery team is on standby - LE is pretty sure that they will have work to do after the storm - especially since thousands elected to stay on Galveston and many more in other mandatory evacuation areas.

We have some friends from Houston, and it took them 8 hours to get to Dallas. They were thinking of staying at the hilton or whatever downtown, but even there they are not taking the reservations in they already booked.

Man, Ike's looking like a total bastard.
I feel for you coastal Texans, and I'm praying for you and your Sharks that are in Ike's way.

Sterling is about 15 miles south of me, so I think he will be ok. We all know how he is about the SG so I'm sure if something was coming his way he'd have it in a Fall out shelter just in case.
We are only going to get 35-75 mph winds and rain up here, nothing like what they have down there.

Still very early in the game. Stay safe. Looks to me that the eye will pass to the east. However, when Carla went through, my Dad and I went out during the passing of the eye (blueskies overhead) to check out the damage. Lots of tree overturned (Memorial Park Area).
Keep your family and your sharks safe. Good luck. Keep us updated if you can.
My Dad is waiting this thing out near where Town and Country near the I-10 Tollway is.
