Hi, I'm a new 928 owner in NC
Hi, I'm new to 928 ownership, but have stalked this forum for the past few years smiling at your fine rides. Mine is a 1987 928S4, black, with kinda black interior, chrome 18" Antera wheels-peeling badly and 170K miles. All for the wonderful price of $3500. Surely this cost will change as soon as I replace the weather stripping around the doors. I am located in Goldsboro/Pikeville North Carolina (near Seymour Johnson AFB). I will obviously be posting questions soon as all newbs do; I took a chance and bought this one from a mechanic in New York without having seen it personally, now I am seeing the pain ahead of me. I have the mechanical confidence of someone who has drank a 12 pack of cheap beer, but I have true avionics/electrical experience. Looking forward to getting to know you all in the 928 ranks.

Chris, if you need a hand with anything, i'm not that far away here in Fayetteville. I'm not blessed with a 928 at the moment, but i've got a garage and a steady hand. Let me know if I can help with anything.

Wow, thanks for the welcome, especially those willing to scrape some knuckles. As I eldued to, there is some pain in my near future (Jon B.- if you are serious). Princess here will need a torque tube replacement (according to the PO-says it vibrates at 70mph) and there are some miscelaineous whatchmacallic wires and doodads that I haven't a clue about. I do have the owners manual and I have the wiring diagrams for all years (original workshop manual vol6). I can answer some questions using this manual if anyone needs help identifing wire colors/where it goes questions (hopefully )

Very serious dude, my C5 isn't getting much work in the new garage. I can always use a good excuse to work on something. I've never done any Torque Tube work though. My old '85 never needed any big work! Let me know if you wanna make the trip. I can help with anything, I imagine a weekend will take care of whatever is ailing you or the car!

Chris,
Congrats! These guys here are unreal. You, Sean and Roger (928'sRus) will become very close here soon.
These guys are more than willing to help. Not sure what your crew is like, but cheap beer is a staple with the guys here in DFW.
I did like you, just read the forum for several months never subscribed or posted. Then pulled the trigger and made a purchase.
Sound like you made a great buy! Get it cleaned up and tuned up and enjoy.
