Really nice ingenuity. I'm gonna take a lesson from this and try it.
Hopefully next week as i was working on my clutch all this weekend.
Thanks for posting.

Steering rack refresh
I thought I would show a trick I learned while eating yogurt. I tried to place the boot over the rack arm and it was not budging. I was eating some yogurt and the cup almost slipped out of my hands with the grease from the rack. I got an idea and used the cup , cut up, to slide the boot on and it worked like a champ.

Thats awesome. Things I learned while eating yogurt. That reminds me of an album called "songs I wrote while eating puddin' " by Bubba "whoop ***" Wilson

to fit rack boots, just turn the rack till the inner tie rod is against the rack housing, spray some wd 40 on the rack housing and the inner boot edge, and the boot will slide right on over the inner tie rod joint and the rack stop and then to its seat. Simple NO tools required, It is almost like the rack is made to do it this way

I just looked at my Steering rack and while installing the bushings it seems like the rack has twisted a few degrees. What is the best way to realign this and will it damage any seals.

I thought I would follow up on those can't find the seals on the cam's. I took a picture there is one for each side.
NO FEEDBACK ON THE STEERING RACK DID I MESS IT UP?

Mark, I have never taken a rack apart but I have rebuilt a ton of hyd. cylinders. That is basicly what you have there. How is the center tube connected to the two end caps that bolt to the car? It looks like it may be threaded into the caps. If so, how does it seal there? O rings, a beveled connection or at the threads. I would guess O rings. Where are they located? Is it possible that one rolled out of place during installation?

16 v Kemph tool adj
I am adjusting my belt and the tensioner seems a little far out. I want to verify the spot placement of the Kemph tool and adjustment window does this look OK?

What does this go to?
The alternator will not indicate a charge on the meter although it is charging. This seems to be an aftermarket, I noticed that the spade connector is not connected could this be the problem? I know the air temp sensor is part of this circuit but would like to keep what I have if I can get the Voltage meter to run.
Any feed back!

The spae connector doesen't get connected to anything. That Bosche alternator needs to get excited before it will begin to charge. Usually if you rev the engine to a couple thousand RPM it will begin charging.
You say that the meter doesn't register any voltage? Where are you measuring voltage to determine that the alternator is charging? At the alternator? Have you also checked at the battery to make sure its getting all the way there? Is your warning light lit up? There is a light bulb that has to be fed voltage from both sides to remain off, if voltage is not present on one side it will make a circuit and light the bulb. There was some talk that the bulb being burnt out could cause the charging system not to charge.

Thought I would supply a few updates:
Wheels being painted by Mark Kune !
I have a cosmetic question ?
Would you paint the center cap right up to the Porsche logo with the same color as the wheel or use a different color on the rim of the center cap?
I have a spring shock question ?
Front shock and spring are not factory, rear has spacers required for the rim and tire " not to my liking but seems to be required". What is the front set-up and do the rears look factory, they may have been painted gold to match the wheels, top of shock is black.
Injectors are squirting fine; went across the room

I figured if that metal was trimmed away the wedges would not be needed, and certainly not desired.
What color are you painting the wheels?
