Folks, the fourth Boston Shark Party is upon us and it's time to register (or pay extra at the door.) David Lloyd's handling the money. I'm handling party favors and, it seems, Rick N., and Carl are handling hotel and other aspects. Below is the e-mail from DL that went out a while ago:
----------------------------------------------
Time to send the money for this year's gathering at the Larz Andersen Museum of Transportation in Brookline, MA, Saturday, September 6th, rain or shine.
Send a check, made out to David Lloyd, for $25 (registration at the gate will cost $35). That'll cover the entry fee (we have to pay the Northeast Region of PCA) and a BSP4 baseball cap. The link below takes you to NER's online magazine. Scroll to page 18 for the details.
For the past 3 years, there have been more 928s in attendance than any other model. Let's keep the streak going!

Best regards,
David Lloyd

15 Ashford Drive

----------------------------------------------
All 928OC members that attend will get a free logo-encrusted cap and any 928s attended by a non-OC member will win their driver's a free cap too. Extra caps will be available for a small donation.

Sounds like fun!
I'd just like to introduce myself, this is my first post.
I live up in the woods of Maine. Lots of trucks and Fords up
here, but that has not stopped me from enjoying imports.
I started out when I was young and poor wrenching on a
turbocharged all-wheel-drive Eagle Talon. If you know
anything about those cars.... they turn you into a mechanic...willing or not.
Well, my father-in-law has an Auto '87 928 S4 he has somewhat lost
intrest in, it's gathering dust. Beautiful car. Always garaged
and looks new. He has told me if I want to fix it up and work
on it, I can have full use of it. I'm more into small, nimble cars but
I'd be a fool to deny the fact cruising in comfort in this old-school supercar
is a very pleasant experience.
The car currently makes a loud whining noise when you start it up, that increases with engine speed, so I'm going to have to track that down and do
some other maintainence. The father-in-law had some redneck mechanics do work on it, so I cringe to think what I will find.
Can anyone reccomend a decent 928 mechanic or dealer service department in Maine, Massachussetts, Vermont or New Hampshire. I'm planning on spending a few thousand getting this thing up to par, in any case.
Thanks so much. Hope to meet some of you once I get this "shark" some sharpened teeth.

I'm going to try to make it on Saturday after the show but I have to get a full day clearance from the missus first.
I will try to have a firm response by Sunday at the latest, sorry for the short notice.
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help as well.
Can't wait to see this years shark turnout, it looks like it will be a good one!

Hi there, welcome!

You might want to post a new separate thread introducing yourself and outlining some of the issues that your shark has. That way the whole international 928 community will see it and will be able to contribute their knowledge to help you fix it. Also come to the Boston Shark Party if you can make it, there are a lot of good local contacts you can meet who may be able to help you with your car.

The friday night hang out is at my place, You can wash/clean your car to get ready for the show, eat, drink and get in the spirit. It will either be pizza from the local place (the best italian pizza I have had in my life) or burgers/chicken on the grill.
I will have soda, but bring your own alcohol!!!
pm me for address+my cell# unless you have it from last year.
