Fixed it.
And we done good pahking all the kahrs in his yhard.
+928 on Ricks great hosting.
6 cars? went on Dave Chamberlands twisty route ride. Had a blast.
Weather was stupendous. DC did a great job leading, driving, shifting, reading his rallye notes, making sure we didn't get stuck behind red lights and getting us all there to the restaurant at the end of the mini-rally.

I had a 'moment' turning into the DD for the first break. Turning hard right to get into the parking lot my clipboard with the route notes got a corner locked into a steering wheel spoke. I went to straighten out, turning the wheel counter-clockwise and jammed the clipboard into my ahem... regions ... and still couldn't straighten the wheel. Luckily there was an empty space to the right so I made it all look planned.
Next time. I will have a navigator/cupholder to read the course notes to me.
Lession #2: CT back roads after a hurricane?
I'm sure the waitress at Pat's Kitchen will be constructing a John Cho-shaped voodoo doll tonight. My condolences to Sharon; Just ignore those sharp gasps of pain from John...

On the day of the show that was cancelled, people came back to my house and shark-parked in the back yard again. We took the train (3 blocks from my house) in to south station in Boston and walked by the waterfront and through the North end, ending at Fanueil Hall where we ate lunch. Boston looks nicer since they buried the highway (the Big Dig!) and have grass and trees now. I enjoyed it as well, and of course the storm held off until the end of the day. Nothing but 80 degrees and sunshine!! we could have had the show anyway.
We want our fellow 928ers to have a good time and come back!

Carl and Rick, thanks for your hospitality by not only hosting at your homes, but for playing tour guide in Boston. Sharon and I had a great weekend.
Dave, the drive through the Connecticut Valley was fantastic. Well worth it - even the slow sections. Thanks for the prep. And Sharon's high tolerance level for me was well rewarded by being able to hang with you guys for the weekend.

Sharon was a trooper.
And Mrs. Wayne's tolerance for our shenanigans and her navigation skills whilst barrelling through the woody CT countryside.
With the Larz Museum cancellation of the show, the intrepid 928'ers go trekking into the wilds of Boston downtown/harbor.
Great air-conditioned train ride into Boston
We're walking. We're walking.
And we're stopping. We're stopping. (Note Glen is sporting the waaaay cool 928 Owner's Club baseball cap)
Hey! It's a Roller.
Nearly there. We can see Faneuil Hall.
Carl was a little short on change. So he improvised.
Who are these guys, thought the seagull.
Our day in Boston.
We ate. We saw. We conquered.
We're walking. We're walking.

I have a bunch of those caps left.
If anyone wants one they are $10 each plus S&H.
All proceeds (after the cost of the hats that is) will be used to help fund next year's event. Some will go to Carl and Rick to help pay for food for next year's event, and some will be used to pay for hats/shirts/something.
PM/email me if you want some.

Rick,
You host a Wicked Pahty. Great Food. Drinks and Awesome garage.
Thanks for the use of the lift.
And I won't discuss the uses of a polishing ball. Never seen it used THAT way.
The front part of Rick's house is like a museum. I made sure I spilled nothing during dinner.
Super duper cat. Who kept us all in line.

Great time
I just want to acknowledge Rick, Carl and Amy's hospitality and to say "Thanks" for the effort to make what might have been a disasterous weekend into a memorable time. I'll be there next year, rain or shine!
