Just picked up my 928
Been here forever, but have posted very little (until now). I finally purchased a 928. I bought this 1985 from a very nice guy in North Carolina who had it listed on craigslist. He's restored Jaguars (from the ground up), Jenson Healeys, TVRs, Austin Healeys, and others. Anyway, he found this 928 that a guy had sitting for years and replaced/restored it over a couple of years... including the leather interior (dash, doors, steering wheel, etc.). The interior is an interesting green/gray color while the exterior is obviously white (grand prix white?).
I'll post a list of what's been replaced at some point, but the short and sweet of it is that the car runs flawlessly, looks great, rides great, and is simply awesome to drive. I love it!
I have lots of questions, but am looking for answers using the 'Search' option before I begin hounding everyone here for advice. However, I do have one thing that I haven't found an answer to yet. Can I get a RMB for an '85? It seems wherever I look I can only find '86.5 and up.
Thanks for everything on this site. I've been a member for a while, so it's nice to be a 928 owner finally, and I look forward to a long relationship with my new car!!

Welcome aboard. That car is beautiful! Not sure about the RMB question tho. It should be the same for both 85 and 86, but those who know will certainly chime in....More pics! I love the black matte finish on the intake.

The guy sure made the interior look spotless. Sport seats too!
The 85 exhaust does not have a bolt-on rear muffler like the 87 and later ones. You can have a muffler shop cut it off and bend up an RMB.

Great looking shark, inside, outside & under the hood too!
Get an Xpipe & delete the cats & you'll love the results, not only in the seat of the pants dyno, but also in the great sound too!

Very very nice, I'm completely jealous of the interior and engine bay. Is the intake painted or powder coated?
Also, do yourself a favor and read all of Porken's threads regarding the untapped potential of the S3 engine.
Congrats on the great score!
