Does anyone have Ross's cell number so I can text him my offer for a place to stay or for a meal? I'm not sure he will be online before he passes through Columbia and would hate to have him check into a motel here when a free bed is available.

Thank you so much, I'm so happy I'm on this trip and the help from you guys makes it possible for me. I'm off to battle this wind, I am leaning over 45 degrees going down the freeway.

Dude you are but 1700 miles from home now... damn good work!

Do the tires look like they will make it? Oh and are you spraying some lube on the chain every so often?

He said he's leaning 45 degrees over. That part of the tire probably doesn't have much wear on it

Alright guys I need some luck, alot of it too, I got popped on I-70 heading through Mays, Kansas. The troopers were dicks and I don't have insurance on the bike... florida doesn't require insurance on bikes. The trooper argued otherwise. So my bike gets towed to Augie's towing, I'm sitting in a crappy little hotel lobby using the computer here waiting to call the KHP back. I can't get the bike back unless I have valid insurance etc. but I can have take out the bike on a truck, I found a nice guy with a pickup who is going to help me out now I'm playing the waiting and praying game, I cant afford another hotel and the towing bill, I don't even know if I can make it home on what little money I'll have left after the towing bill. The Augie's towing lady is being a bitch about everything and said that I have to wait until the particular trooper is back on duty tomorrow, this was less than an hour ago... So I call KHP and the dispatcher says the Augie's lady is busy etc. call her back in 10-20 min. The towing bill is going to kill the majority of my funds, I just want to ride home. Someone pray for me.

That blows Ross. If memory serves we covered this minor point before you headed out of Seattle... not that that helps you in any way now.

I just spoke with Linda at Augie's Repair and Towing:

http://www.augiestowing.com/

She basically said what you just told us. That as long as you tow or truck the bike out of there tomorrow, you are good to go. She said that today was not an option since they are closed today. She mentioned she just happened to answer the phone just now even though they are closed today.

We can all pray for you, no prob. However it sounds like you have to wait until tomorrow to get the bike no matter who we pray to or how hard we pray. And if I'm reading you right, you already have a truck lined up to haul it outta there.

How else can we help?

The lady is just being a pain in the *** for fun, the tow yard is open 24 hours and the drivers are going in and out all the time, I met a cool kid that works at this hotel, he is going to let me crash on his couch tonight and tomorrow I don't know what I'm going to do because the guy I found with a truck has to work at 6 am.

Default And now a message from my sponsor...

The following views do not necessarily reflect those of this station.

My darling, charitable husband just peeked over my shoulder and read some of the preceeding thread. His first comment was something to the effect of "what would those boys/girls say about his lack of insurance when he plowed into the side of their precious shark.....?"

"So the boy is bilking businesses along the way out of pc chargers to subsidize his lack of funds or his lack of planning."

Per my charming husband, "I did a lot of stupid things in my youth but I always had too much self respect to ask someone else to pay for those acts. Today, the little weasels fund their stupidity by sucking off the internet...This website needs to rethink their emotional support to a young con."

We now return this station to it's regular programming.....

Ross, surf the web for the absolute lowest price insurance for you on the bike. Go for liability only... the absolute bare bones. Pay for it with your debit or credit card. Print out the proof of insurance card, walk in there and claim your bike.

If that doesn't work or you can't do that for whatever reason, what were your plans after retrieving the bike in a truck? Just get to somewhere not in sight of the tow yard and ride away?

He's been around a while. He's young. some people on the board have had dealings with him and he is liked. At least he doesn't cower behind a fake screen name. No insurance yes, stupid. But I have been there myself. Way lower than he is now. No one tossed me a life line. I have the ability to toss out the life line and I have to him and I plan on doing it again. So sit down Francis and have a coke and a smile and watch the show.

Young con? Give me a break, I am selling off alot of my personal belongings to fund my "stupidity". I'm so sorry that this adventure I'm on to get myself out of a hell I've lived in for years seems like stupidity to your husband or whatever. The only reason I don't have liability is I'm... traveling across the country and my insurance company is not a large corporation, so I have to physically walk into the office and get the insurance with my title.... its not like I'm forcing people to help fund my stupidity, merely suggesting that if they would like to, they can help. The help I've received from rennlist is really the only reason I have money to get my bike out of the tow yard... and to keep riding towards my home, I've always loved rennlist, and this is why. I have donated a couple hundred to rennwish as well, money I could have used but chose to send it to someone that could use it more than me. Con artist I am.
