Ross was verry tired this afternoon when we ate. We filled his bike and calculated his fuel cost. I made sure he had enough money for gas and another meal. We parted ways at 4 pm so best case he would be home around 2 am. He will probably have to rest again on the road though, so who knows. He definately wanted to get back to take care of his animals Thursday.

When the above was written, Ross was 2400 miles from home and not exactly making rapid progress. I can't believe he's actually closing in on his goal, and this despite his bike spending at least a day in impound.
Worse than Hacker, I would have lost my entire apparatus before Utah.
I spent some time with Ross today. He seems to be traveling a leetle on the slow side....He rolled into Provo a little before 5:00. I filled up his tank for him and took him to my favorite Mexican place for a meal. By then it was maybe 5:45. I asked him if he wanted to keep riding, but he wasn't feeling real good and just wanted to call it quits for the day....We discussed his route for tomorrow. Because of Gustav, he's taking a more northern route and will be heading for Denver from here.
But he's gotta make a little better time. He has to be home in Florida by Sep 4.

Home stretch
OK this is it boys and girls. Ross is 250 miles from Sarasota (home) on I-75. The last truck stop put a $75 hold on his Paypal debit card when he filled up for $12 (try that in a 928!) which put a crimp in his plans.
My g/f paypalled him $100 to get him over the hump and with any luck he'll be rolling soon. He plans to ride through the night to get home so wish him well. Right now it's about 12:30 am eastern so it may be a long night...

OK, its been 16 hours since the last update of 250 miles to go.
Are you alive man? I'm sure he promptly passed out when he got home, but I hope he lets us know how that last leg of the trip went.

Ahhhh...... post ride lap dance.
Knowing his financial situation, and the kind of club he can afford, I think it will take more than that to wake up little ross after 3,200+ miles.
