A picture tells a 1000 words........ my bloody thumbs are sore, not to mention the sunburn!

Edit, I meant it can't be the coolant resevoir tank (not the washer fluid resevoir) - that takes about 8 hours

Nope, outside window seals, not as bad as I thought, just heavy on the thumbs. Worth it though, look 10 x better and my windows have stopped rattling!

Window seals? Are you refering to the scraper seal on the outside of the glass? If so, someone just told me yesterday that you had to dissasemble the door to replace those. If not, I'm sure he will be glad to hear it.

Yep, scraper seals. If you slacken off the felt pads you can get plenty of clearance between the glass and the door to fit new. Just make sure the top channel is cleared out of any crud and in my case i smeared dow corning release paste (posh silicon) along the channel to make life easier. Like I say, not that bad when you get into it, the second one is easier!

My sympathies, Bert. I spent about a total of 3 to 4 hours trying to get out the stripped 4-mm allen-head bolt which holds the passenger side-view mirror to the door. Not fun!

To be honest Mike it really wasn't that bad. The bottom lip sort of locates itself if you over push it in to the door / glass gap. It springs up and grips. The top lip really is an exercise in brute force, you sort of push it into place and then pull it forward to finish locating it, just use plenty of soap / silicon. I purposely waited for a hot day to do this as the rubber was much more pliable.

I didn't have to trim the seals as the excess just slotted into the frame. When i'd finished i ran a ball end allen key along the gap between the outer seal and the inner section (its a c profile - so allen key into the c to ensure the bottom has located) I used a combination of tips from other posts and it all worked out. I bought my new scrapers 2 years ago and just kept putting it off as i thought it would be an **** of a job. The worst thing is the price!
