Default FS: Used Fuel Pump (now on ebay)

I have a good used fuel pump off of my 87, it was clogged and I had purchased a new one before I unclogged the old one. First $100 takes it + shipping.

Added to eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=330256299682

ok, are you selling the new one you bought that is now used, or the original which is 20 years old?

Your ebay ad suggests your selling a brand new pump? Your Rennlist post suggests your selling the original

Its my original pump, I apologize if the ebay ad is misleading, but in the ad I state that it is the used pump off of my 87 not a new pump. I wouldn't install a brand new pump and then take it off to put my old one back on.

Does it pump backwards? It's a not-so-well-known performace secret that if you install these backwards they have a higher output. Problem is not all of the pumps will actually do that.

I would suggest changing the pic in your Ebay ad, you have a picture of a new pump.

I am not going to bid on a used one when they aren't that much more new. But if someone does buy the pump they maybe in for a rude awakening when they get it.

"This is a low mileage working Bosch fuel pump part #928 608 104 02 it came off of a 1987 Porsche 928 S4 and is in new condition with original box and installation instructions included. This item is sold as is."

You state its in new condition, but how can a 20 year old pump be like new?

A new pump is twice as much, but thanks for continuously raining on my parade.

Actually i am trying to save you a headache. You say something is like new, if i bought it i would expect it to be. When i see that its not, i would send it back at your expense, and request a full refund shipping included. Now your out the Ebay fee's and shipping to and from. If you accurately describe the pump then you have no problems, describe it the way you do and you could have issues with Paypal, Ebay and the buyer, should you have one.

Your ad here, and on Ebay are describing 2 different things, thats why i am suggesting you change the description on ebay. But ultimately, thats up to you.

If you bought the pump you would receive it in the original box with instructions, and you would see that it is indeed like new. Not to mention the ebay ad states the item is sold as is. Thank you for trying to save me a headache though.

since fuel pumps come installed on cars and not in boxes when you buy your new shiny 928 from the dealer, what you mean by original box is the box that the new fuel pump came in right?

anyway good luck with the listing i give up on this one

I've got to ask is this a wise purchase. Are they so expensive that we want to go from one used one to another used one? Not sure I quite get this sale.

I would include the box as if you were to purchase the pump new.... I'm sorry my wording was misleading to you again.

6mil928- I'm just offering this pump for 50% less than a new pump if someone that has a limited budget would need it.

Possible replacement if someone has a dead pump and a limited budget, or feel better having a spare?
