Sorry I can't help too much with the tuning questions, Mark. I'm not sure what we'll be able to do while it's on the dyno. Maybe we can get Howard to take a look and make some suggestions before you put it on the dyno. We're looking for topics for the tech session so perhaps we can spend some time on 16v tuning.

We've got goodies!!!
Roger Tyson made a delivery today. Quite a few lucky folks are going to be driving away with some nice prizes.
Thanks Roger,
I owe you a cold one at the 928 OCIC next year.

I think it's a great idea, but if I'm the only 16v'er there it might be lightly attended.
I know they don't have the tuning options the later cars do and are more "traditional" but good info is very thin on the ground.

Don't worry Mark; you won't be the only 16 valve guy there. I'm planning to show up with the 206K mile 82 Auto and if there's room on the dyno I'll battle you for lowest HP!
I also want to add a second vote that Howard is one of the most knowledgeable 928 guys anywhere; we actually bought our 928 from Brumo's Atlanta (back when there was a Brumo's Atlanta) so Howard got to work on it then and has worked on it in his current location as well; he's one of the best!
See you on the 6th.

Great to hear you're coming, Callouie. That car of yours is a beauty.
Thanks, Dick. And thanks for your help with PCA sponsorship as well.
I spent some more time with Howard today working out the schedule. He will have his shop open from 10:00 until 4:00 and will have both of his lifts available for our use. He's going to demonstrate the procedure for checking and relieving flex plate tension for all of us slush box owners. He will also field individual questions from us during the day and offer guidance and tools for any minor procedures we want to perform on our cars.
One thing I was not aware of is that Howard has been rebuilding power steering racks and pumps as a side business since 2000. He has been supplying some of our well known 928 vendors with racks and pumps during this time. If you bought a rebuilt rack or pump since 2000, there's a good chance Howard rebuilt it. As a bonus, he will be giving away a gift certificate for the choice of a free rebuilt rack or pump with core exchange to one lucky 928 owner at the event.
We also talked a little more about his history with Porsche. He was a tech at the Porsche dealership in Marietta, Ga. from 1972 until 1992. It was Brumos when I remember it but it had four other names and owners during his employment. I was a little disappointed to find out that he drives a 911 now but not surprised when he told me that his son drives a 928.![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
He also gave me a souvenir from his days at Brumos.

Wasn't it also Peter Gregg Porsche before Brumos? I'm pretty sure that's the same place, and it's where my 911 was originally purchased back in 1978. I've still got a copy of the window sticker somewhere, the original is of course with the car. Cool.

Yeah, he mentioned Peter Gregg as being one of the owners and recalled that he committed suicide shortly after purchasing the dealership. You would think that a life of racing and owning a Porsche dealership would equate to happiness. Oh well.

A little more history about Brumo's Atlanta; I think the dealership was Taurus Porsche, then Peter Gregg, then Brumo's, then First Motorcars for a few years before closing in the late 80's or early 90's. The location on Cobb Parkway was relatively small and they had no room to grow. Testing my memory again I think that Peter Gregg had suffered a head injury while racing in Europe and the affects of that injury contributed to his suicide (again, this is from my admittedly fuzzy memory). I still have license plate holders from all 4 dealerships, as mentioned earlier my 928 came from Brumo's Atlanta, and my other Porsche (I also own a 911) came from Brumo's Jacksonville.

I received the diagnostic tool on loan from the 928 OC yesterday so we'll have it to use during the event.
Thanks, Stan.![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)
I plan to spend some time with it this weekend to learn what it can do and how to use it.
Thanks, Stan.

Awesome! It looks like I bought into the 928 family just in time. Count me in! I can't wait to see that many 928s in one place. I'm looking forward to learning a LOT on the 6th!

Great to hear you're coming. If you're like me, you'll find that one of the best parts of 928 ownership is the adoption into the 928 family. I've met some terrific people that I would never have known had I not owned a 928. It's icing on the cake when you consider how special the cars are in their own right.
Watch this thread for directions to the event. I'll be posting a map and addresses this weekend.
