So does this mean you're going to be here, Brian? You've got over a month to work on that lifesize poster.

Mike--
Perhaps you could put your contact info (email address, phone #, etc) here for others to see, and then relay to you their RSVP?

Thanks Russ. I've added my email address to the original post.

I'm working on it, the BS story file is almost empty. I have been known to blow off family events in the past, and I am kinda running low on excuses, and older relatives.

We have a sponsor!
Roger Tyson of 928sRus has generously offered to provide an impressive selection of 928 parts and accessories to be given as prizes at our event.
Thanks, ROG100.

The first prize will go to the winner of the "Name the Event" contest. It's a dyno day and tech session but "Atlanta Area Dyno Day and Tech Session with Howard Wright" just ain't gettin it plus it's too long to fit on the t-shirts. So we need a name. There's Sharks in the Mountains, Sharks In Hell, Shark Frenzy and Shark Shiver to name a few but all I've come up with is "Sharks in the ATL" which isn't terrible but I'm betting the creative mind of Rennlist can do better.

Send me a PM with your suggestion. My wife, my daughter and myself will be the judges. The first one to submit the winning name is the winner. A few examples of the prizes are a fuel line kit, hood struts and hatch struts. I will be listing the full selection of prizes once they are delivered and the winner will receive their choice, shipping included in the Cont. U.S. If we stick with "Sharks in the ATL" the prize will be given away separately at the event. The contest ends at midnight Sunday, Aug. 3rd so get those creative juices flowing.

Unsticking for now.

Remind me and we'll put it up again a week or so before the event.

Peachstate 928 Dyno Day

That's the new name for our Atlanta area event. Thanks to Abby for the winning entry in the Name the Event contest.

I am working out the schedule now. The dyno operator wants to start at 10:00. The current plan is to run the dyno from 10:00 to lunch time. We grab a bite and have the tech session at European Classics then back to the dyno shop to finish up the dyno runs. Finally, everyone caravans to the house to cool off and brag about (or make excuses for) our dyno results.

There's plenty of parking space for everyone. I want a picture of the driveway full of 928s.

Mike,
I will try to make it, but may be out of town. I will let you know closer to the date. Even if I don't get on the dyno it will be nice to see everyone. I am up to 11psi, so I'm interested in the RWHP.
Later,
Woody

Good to hear from you Woody. I hope you can make it. It'll be good to see you and I'd like to see your beast on the dyno again.

More good news! We will be proudly flying the 928 OC banner at the Peachstate 928 Dyno Day. Our friends at the 928 Owners Club have agreed to sponsor us. Their sponsorship will help provide us with t-shirts to commemorate the event. We're working on the design now and will post it once it's complete. The shirts will be handed out one per 928 on a first come, first served basis. Anyone travelling from out of state can email me if you're expecting to arrive late and I will try to set one aside for you.

A little more info.
The t-shirt design is done as seen in my new avatar. Special thanks to my daughter for spending the time on the computer to put it together.

Also, I spent some time with Howard Wright yesterday. He is very enthusiastic about the event. He said he has been wanting to do something like this for a while now but has been too busy to put it together. He spoke about all the years he worked at Brumos in Atlanta and that he enjoyed going to Sharks in the Mountains before it was in the mountains. I told him that he would have to make time to go to SITM next year.

Anyway, Howard and I are looking for suggestions for the tech session. He is willing to share his wisdom with us but wants to know what we want to see. Let me know if you have any ideas. I'd love to get him to change my timing belt but I'm afraid that may take a little bit too much time.

Mike,
How many people do you have coming? I may stay in ATL Friday night to save some time.

It looks like we've got about 20 that are interested with 12 cars confirmed for the dyno including yours. Three of those 12 are mine so I'll go last. If we run too late, I'll run mine some other time. I'm only a few miles from the shop so it's no problem for me to go back later.
Bring friends and family if you want. The more the better.

Please send a PM or email to let me know what size shirt you'd like. I'm planning to order a mix of large and x-large but can order any size you need.
I'll be placing the order early next week so get your request in soon.

I'm doing a little work this weekend to prep for this event, got a vacuum leak and it's running hotter than I would like. I also want to make sure it's set up properly, but there's a serious 32v bias on this forum for setup and tuning. So I want to first make sure things are factory spec on my car and then look into the possibilities for some additional tuning. Does anyone have a pointer for cam and ignition timing for a 16v? And then what else should I check for? And finally, what can be done once we're at the dyno to improve the tuning?
