If the maf is after the bov, how can the purge air be considered metered?

Kevin the BOV just prevents the SC from spiking as I am sure you know,

if it is between the MAF, and the throttlebody then you must route the discharge side of the BOV to the inlet of the SC so the air just reciruculates and doesn't cause unmetered air, or a boost spike.

Glad to hear that you have had success with the Zirgo fans Tim.
I have not tried them as I have known a few who have had them fail.

What do you get for yours?

Says 3000 CFM
This is not the chrome version. All black with curved blades.
Rennlist member price is $95.00 + actual shipping. If you get it and doesn't work out you can return it and just pay shipping both ways.

More than 200 fans out there with no failures that I can remember (actually, one did have a nut come loose on a small fan and the blade stopped turning). A customer sent one back under warranty but when I received it there was obvious impact damage that broke the housing and the fan blade. He paid for a new one.

Knowing a "few" that have had them fail seems like a lot considering I have handled so many without any problems. I did have some delivery issues a couple years ago so it is possible they rejected a bunch at that time because they were having problems. They told me it was a supply issue but you never know.

There is a prefered motor rotation, perhaps your "few" had them running backwards?

Default 86 S/C

I need to bring back this thread: Never mind I'm running out of things to repair!

My radiator has a leak and have been living with a low boost issue since I relocated my Maf. I found a constriction on the intake tube due to size constraints by using the only available location. My reason for the relocation was to stop the surging due to the 90 elbow going into the Maf, this caused turbulence. The relocation completely eliminated this issue but caused the boost issue.
Since the radiator is out I am trying to come up with other options such as locating the Maf off of the S/C outlet or on the back intake pipe. I am looking for a transition pipe that would not cause turbulent air flow. Here are a couple of pictures and location options. How about you other 85/86 s/C guys what have you done or have not had this issue. Any feedback??

Your alternate location has a 90 degree bend before the MAF. And it looks like there will have to be a diameter transition as well, not unlike what you were trying to avoid. Still, it may work if it is not as close to the MAF opening as the original spot.

I Am working on some options. I need to see if it works up front, straight off the S/C going in the 90 Degree pipe. But a Hugh size reduction in and out of the Maf 2" to 3.75" then back to 2" again. I wonder how that could effect the air flow.

I found this:

That pipe looks like it would work, I got an E-mail off to find where and what to get.

Have you tried it without the air filter as a test?

Yes the restriction is at the bend in the corner near the front pull bar.
