Oil Change.............Mobil 1?

Drifting
Let me quailify why I use Rotella then. When I used 15w-50 Mobil I had more oil loss on track days then I had with Amsoil 20w-50 or Rotella 5w-40. Not sure why (no leaks), but none the less. I also ran at about 1.5-2 bar when hot with Mobil 15w-50. With the other two I run at about 2.5-3 bar when hot. My experience only. But yes Mobil 15w-50 is perfectly fine especially since M1 does not offer 20w-50 or 15w-40. YMMV

hey you noobs
the question was asking wether or not the OP had the correct weight M1 oil for their car. I don't think it asked for a roll call of everyone's personal oil choices.
Is there a smiley that conveys "NOT ANOTHER OIL THREAD!" Andrew, do you have a smiley like that? If so post it for me please

Are you thinking of Delvac?
What it boils down to is SJ / SL rating over SM.
Most diesel & 4-stroke motorcycle oil still use the older (higher ZDDP content) formula.
All current production car oil will be SM (catalytic converter friendly).
This is why many people lean towards AMSoil, Redline, Royal Purple etc... They sell "non certified" oil that is the old rating. Read the label.
Todd runs dyno oil from Lubrication Engineers.
I've found on a few "other" forums, many engine builders are suggesting run whatever oil you want and dump in a bottle of STP oil treatement (blue bottle). It's bascially a high dose of ZDDP.

101 racing days on Amsoil 20-50 and always at near 5 bar at 2000rpm +
I saw similar results with Redline, but low oil pressure at track temps with Mobil 1. thats all I know

I've run on 20/50 exclusively in the past, but am giving the M1 15/50 a look see this time around.
I believe any quality synthetic at xx/50 is a good choice unless you run it in the cold winters
