I bought the remaining inventory of 928 parts from 928 Developments.

Last week, the truck arrived with the inventory from their workshop and warehouse.

Its been quite a week - sorting and cataloging all the parts and absorbing them into our stockroom. We just finished today. These pictures are from the moments just after we unloaded the truck -

To be clear: I did not buy their business (I do not want their warranty claims).
I bought their remaining stock of 928 parts.

If you are looking for something now that Phil used to have, please call us. I probably have it.

We will be using the parts we aquired to build engines for sale. This is a product line that I wanted to get into, and now I have more than enough blocks and cores to get started.

I always thought someone would do well offering rebuilt motors for sale. It is worth the extra to get new instead of used, peace of mind. Good luck with that!!

Hmmmm... I was wondering where the stash went.

The same stuff was listed for sale locally here in the Bay Area on Craigslist. The seller never ID'd themselves by name and when I mentioned whether or not this was stuff related to 928 Developments or Phil Threshie, all communications ceased. It would have been interesting to see the stash as it was in storage as shown in the Craigslist ad photos.

Were some parts which Carl bought owned by seller or someone else? I think thats interesting question. Hopefully Carl doesn't have to deal with this issue.

I hope you ar right. I'm counting on it (invested in it, I would say). We've gotten excellent reliability in the motors we have built for our race cars, I hope to apply this knowledge to some Strokers too.

The people that contacted me were the investors that had bank-rolled Phil Threshie. The things they told me were disturbing to say the least, but I will not repeat them here. They had a small warehouse that was costing them money each month and they were hoping to recoup some of the large losses they took by selling all this stuff.

When it got here, about a fourth of it was crap and went right into the dumpster. Then there were good parts ruined by rust while they were in storage... I saved what I could, but another group of parts went to the dumpster just because of rust pits in the metal (cam followers, for example).
There were camshafts welded up and reground (with cracks in them) and they went into the dumpster too.

HEADERS: I'm sorry to report that, from what I can see, The Tri-Y headers seem to have been a myth. I had some scrap that showed he was working on them, but I have nothing that would indicate that they got much further than a partial mock-up. I had 2 collectors - 4-into-2 and 2-into-one - and their tube size and exremely short collector length left several of us scratching our heads. They would not have worked.

Does anyboldy actually have a set of Tri-Y headers from 928D? From what I saw, it did not look like they had ever gotten to production. BUt maybe he had them produced elsewhere.

CARBON FIBER INTAKE: I looked at the molds for the CF intake and passed on them. The molds were IMHO adequate for pulling protypes only and would not stand up to a production run. They were made from wood. Given the problems with the separation at the seams and cracking that had occured with the few that were actually made, the very small market for them, and the Big Bux the investors thought they were worth, I passed on them.

WOW - awesome find Carl.

I've always been a bit puzzled with carbon fiber intakes. I cannot think of any advantage of it's use over plastic (what current production car today doesn't have a plastic intake?). It cannot be weight, the intake on a ZO6 weighs nothing already.
A custom, short intake runner intake out of plastic would be much easier / cheaper to tool up for and offer the same benefits as a CF one.
