What is the deal with the paper gasket that I see in some of the pictures? Mine didn't come with that. Is that needed at all for vibration or something? Just making sure it wasn't left out by accident before I do this thing today with the help from a fellow Rennlister.
Initially it was used because of the dissimilar metals. Removed because it was thought that it could lead to some movement between the two parts. Certainly not needed to seal anything as per the original de-tensioner.

Thanks guys.. Off to the garage I go. Thankfully I installed a TV in there as well. LeMans while I'm working on my P-Car with a fellow rennlister. Could be a worse day!
Saw him last year in September for coffee here in NC just before driving up to Frenzy 17 in VA. He was sending his original paint and interior sample books up to Jim Doer to be part of his collection.
We talked about how things were going on his property and with his car, but he mentioned it was the first time he'd been "out" in months. He said it took a lot out of him to drive down for coffee at the time.
It was great to see him. I hadn't seen him since SITM a couple years earlier (2011 I believe).
Found this pic of an Audi 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 engine (apparently from B5 S4). Its clear to see they have a long cam belt as well and also to see the clear genesis of the Porkensioner
