Ed, looks like you were getting ready to bleach and oil all that teak in addition to the door. Nice!
I have the front doors off the house now, in fact in the workshop where the 928 normally lives. Working to get them to match the cherry on the garage doors. It all started off innocently enough with a couple days of stripping the old finish, bleaching the old stain out, adding new rubbing oil cherry stain. I had to lie at the paint store this morning; They said I have to be 18 to get any of the normal-VOC prep and finish products. Needed a pint, bought a gallon. No telling when the smog ***** are going to outlaw all the good products here.

Dr. Bob, the cashiers at Walmart look at me funny when I buy a case of carb cleaner and a couple of boxes of cup cakes.
Don't understand why it beeps every time the girl runs the carb stuff over the scanner.

Aerosols like this can be huffed by retarded kids, so they require an 18 and up ID check when you purchase them, hence the beep reminding the cashier to check your ID. Happens with spray paint too.
edit: And you don't look under 18. Sorry to break it to you. Sir.

nice day for a socal mtn drive... was over angeles crest from the 2 to the 14 last sunday. hardly any traffic, just 4 rangers looking over a cliff side on a nasty turn..
just gotta get past the dozen speed traps to get there... chp is NOT playing nice anymore. seems they are everywhere, pulling folks over for the slightest infractions. no tickets in 7 yrs for me.... trying for lucky #8, but they sure are making it tough, even if one is obeying the law 1000%. well, maybe 999% hahaha

Hi Rob--
A short cruise up the 2 to Mt Wilson and back this morning. 2 radar (1 CHP, 1 LASO) plus two separate CHP scooters. All in about 8 miles. Then over to Azusa for a PCA parking lot gathering. Nothing on the way over, but hoards of scooters on the 605 north. Detector was very active on the 210 and 134 too. Folks were cruising with me at 80 OK, but obviously not as sensitive to possible threats as I stayed a little right and adjusted the throttle to the threat level. The one I saw on a the Figueroa on-ramp was not radar active and probably not paying attention. Two rabbits sprinted past me and he never looked. Must have been filling out his kill cards.
Drive safe! I may need to go back to active radar defense, but that is only a partial solution, at least on the urban freeway sections around here.

Heads up if you need some cheap tools. Harbor Freight is having a good sale today. Rog and I went shopping this morning and picked up about $600.00 worth of stuff for $400.00. Got a LOT of neat things including an oil catcher (just like Brads) for $170.00.
They even price matched on a couple of items which saved us about $50.00.
Bad thing is they put two advertisements in the carry out bags and I just read through them, found more stuff for cheap. Might need to make a 2nd trip.

thx for the heads up doc... public roads are only good for cruising/enjoying the weather and a few moderate twisties. always save the real stuff for the track.
prolly should do a socal GTG one of these days. maybe putz over to the muholland topanga/malibu area, have lunch on the pch... maybe the next super euro sunday or two would be cool, meet at the roasters in calabasas.
gotta ck the Z8 Ax schedule, the 1st event is at the end of march also..

The next two VCR Euro Supercar Sundays are already booked up. ;( darn poverty forces me to work on revenue generation myself sometimes. Spring and fall are my busy seasons, so I can slack and play the rest of the year.

You're not 40 yet Sean. Most retail establishments in this great state that unfortunately gave us MADD card up to 40 these days since they don't want MADD ***** showing up at their door with a TABC officer.

No John, it's because I look 15 years younger than I am. Please don't ruin that for me.
