I'm not here. I'm riding a small ballistic rant missle. finally got my trans & TC & new HD sway bars working perfectly. but it's raining & snowing now. argh.

so instead of having a fun car day, I decide tp open my mail only to discover another friggin smog notice w/my registration renewal. it was tested last year and passed just fine. guess now it's every 9 months (took me a while to get around to it last year). this is getting absurd. when I was younger and we had real freedom - it'd be exempt cause it's so old. not anymore. now it's on a short list to be harrassed every year or until I find a way to circumvent these rotton **** intruders. and fuel was .35 a gal. and premium was 98-100 octane. and, and, and....

me go drink now.

Long what? The bump or the Friday?

This afternoon it looks like I'll get a chance to vist with Sir John Curry in Santa Barbara. Looking forward to a nice drive up the coast in high-60's to high-70's weather.

Wish our economic climate was as nice.

Back to work!

I'm in Sacramento for a while. My Friday won't end until early Sat when I get back home(hopefully). At least Verizon's west coast network ops are once again spinning in greased grooves. It's amazing what one misplaced comma where a semicolon should be within 33 million lines of code can do.

CA just passed the budget. It's all over the news. Best news of the day, vehicle lic fees are going up 77%.

The state is also borrowing $5.4 BILLION in high interest bridge loans. Glad I'm not holding any of that paper.

Those bonds will be great additions to the portfolio. California has a requirement that the first dollar in the door pays bonds, before anything else including the gov's salary. Might be the safest/best tax-free muni you can find right now.

In the end there will be a net savings, it will just take one or two more crisis budgets like this. The debt load committed will equal income anticipated. The state treasurer will be the only one left with a job. Legislators without money to spend are like chickens with their heads cut off, except the chickens are quieter. Whole lotta flappin' and bleedin' but no noise coming out...

Doc, this is coming from a guy who believes that the world doesn't use enough semi-colons; Disjointed sentences miss them! Instead, commas are used, too often, to make sentences into their own mini-paragraphs, don't you think?

I think; you should read, let's see....... writing well - that might be a good book; at least, to figure out all the punctuation.

All I know is it wasn't my code. I don't code anymore. I didn't find it either but we've spent a few thou on travel, support, meetings, etc to solve this problem. Now all you texters and phone chatters in the western US can continue to thumb away.

I'm on the next plane back to TX, and none to soon. Last night I was getting the boom-chick-a-mowmow look from the hookers near my hotel. One of them made the mistake of standing near a Sodium Vapor street light.

Wait! Wait! Don't tell me! She looked a lot like Sean? Sorry Doc. Sorry Sean. Just kidding, of course.
Doc, you've been away too long if the hookers are looking back at you.

Happy Friday!
