While we're on the subject, what ever happened to that dude Terra-petris? One of the most prolific posters on the forum, just completely disappeared a few months back. Doing a tour w/ the military? Busted street racing and doing time?

I had lunch with him a few weeks ago, and an email exchange a few days ago. He is busy, but well. Has lost a ton of weight. He said he'll be at Sharks at the Lake.

I live around the corner from Dave, and also saw him a couple of weeks ago. He is rebuilding his house and re-wiring it and all sorts of stuff that just thinking about doing make me exhausted. LIke building a new laundry room. Maybe that's why he has lost so much weight. He likes to make things fit his lifestyle not the other way around. Like "improving" his garage. He probably has his beast improved enough to simply enjoy it. Anyway, give him some space and I'll bet he will re-appear here.........sometime.

Funny, ya never know who's going to miss you until you disappear for a while. It's good to be missed.
BTW, I thought I had renewed my membership when the notification email came in, but it seems that I have let it lapse. Either way it's taken care of now, or at least the $ has been sent. Looks like I won't be able to receive any PMs until that's straightened out.
Well, the job has let up, though I'm piling a bit more on there with a special initiative, kind of a technical leaders' circle kind of project. I've had my hands full with the last of the big projects around the homefront(for now). Just poured about 3 yards of concrete weekend before last to widen the driveway so the revlimiter can park off the street. The two street parking spaces available provide one or both of the following benefits depending on season: (a) Overnight whole-car decoupage in tree sap with a sprinkling of misc. bark, twigs, etc (b) constant bird-**** bombardment that is so extreme as to be comical(at least I think so... but it wasn't my car getting bombed )
This weekend we're going to replace all of the sprinkler nozzles with more efficient nozzles -- all 46 of them. I've got to squeeze an oil change and car wash in there somewhere before SATL too.
It's nice to see some room for play time in the near future!
That's done other than organizing the couple hundred GB of various media and other junk accumulated and aggregated from the last 8--10 computers over ~25 years. Fiddling with various stripe sizes on the RAID for best performance was the big time sink, 80-120 hours to rebuild the RAID after every change then test, test, test. Plus of course I had to add a few touches of my own to the case.
BTW, that reminds me -- I found a fossilized breather hose while replacing that heater valve, I need to get on the horn with you tomorrow.
Well, not quite a ton. What's the GVWR on these cars, anyway? OOh, that reminds me, I'll have to update the weigh setting in m G-Tech.
Actually, the beast has been very happy, no issues at all outside of the heater valve beginning to leak after 4 years. I think they designed it that way so you would get in there periodically and notice other things that need attention, like for example a fossilized breather hose. I haven't been enjoying it as much as I would like, but I do still take a ~7 mile longer route to work twice a week to stretch the legs. It's almost spooky how reliable this car has been...
You're right about my tendency to grab a screwdriver, hammer, saw, and rearrange things to suit myself. BTW, all the laundry room malarky was just a cover for putting in a garage utility sink. It's an essential part of any self-respecting Garage-Mahal.
I don't know which is more pathetic -- that we've had so many soap operas come and go, or that I recognize that that was a soap opera reference in your post. No, I just fell off the radar for a bit is all. Had to focus on getting my head above water on all of the projects I had taken on.
Anyway, I oughtta give you a lump on the noggin for suggesting I'd go the same way as Low Miler, Dang Lerb, et al...
As for Mpesik, I don't know. Last I recall he was asking for advice on some issue with his CE panel, not listening to the advice, and venting about how frustrating it was to work on the car but he loved his kids... or something.
