is this a question or comment?

The fuel filter is directly below the fuel tank, behind a small steel cover panel right next to the primary fuel pump. You access if from under the car, not inside the wheel well which seems to be what your suggesting.

We've put up with GW, Chenny, Rummy, and a host of lying sack, war-mongering,
murdering, Treasury/National Economy raping bastages who have found in their spare time
bankruptcy/healthcare mods that affect individuals but not corporations (short list) for darn near
8 years .... . And you probably never gave those grievances a thought let alone tried to correct them.
However, you must feel a lot better about yourself JUMPING on a fellow sHARk pilot for fuggin up a sentence or two.
Seems you did understand his query ...
A simple, Hey Dude. You might want to work on your proof reading " would have worked as well.
Life is tough enough without a rebuke or two from the Grammer ****'s.
Wasn't so long ago we had the NM Engineering student with dyxslexia (sp?) problem.
Stomp on the 911 types if you must :<)

I have found it better to remove the whole pump/filter assy from the car and change the filter on the bench. The only extra work is r&r the pump wiring, and loosen 4 nuts and re-tighten. It can be very difficult to undo the S pipe unions sometimes, and I have seen several OTHER S pipes badly twisted in this operation. The wiring does require some small wrenches to do readily - 7 & 8 mm IIRC.
