spacers work just fine. can seem them on my shark site. work well too. IIRC, greg might have an extra set laying around. clearing the injector covers required some cutting, but no big deal compared to what you've already done

looked great last time I saw it, btw...

Greg's taken his grinder to the intake passages - we're gonna see if that gives us enough breathing. My whole system is a bit more stock-ish than yours. I will be excited to see how the torque curves compare, and what portions of it run below your pull-out-all-the-stops reference

I suspect he's learned a few tricks since he did mine... yours should be a monster

One of the neat things to do at Greg's place is get the tour-of-the-generations-of-parts for things like pistons, or rods, and see stock / 968 / custom-1 / custom-2 / etc as he iterated on his work...

I luv that place. he's always got something cool in the works, enjoys what he does and does awesome work... I'm glad he isn't closer, I"d spend more time there hanging out/making up excuses for him to work on my shark (like a shark really needs excuses, hahaha)

happy holidays!

I'd show more pics, but Greg might strangle me for giving away his secrets...

com'mon, more pics!!

Looks great. That was my plan too, as I was going to go "hog" wild on the intakes. However, I got so wrapped up in just getting the engine in the car for the upcoming race, I just spent the available time cleaning the old one and without even taking it apart! Did you hog out the air inlets that feed the runners (the big oval openings)?

what else was done to the engine besides the stroker kits?

when are you doing the dyno?

nice job

just be very careful driving it. even w/sticky 295's it'll break loose at will in 1st even w/a 220 rear end and slushbox! and 2nd/3rd gets loose in any kind of less than perfectly straight line, so you need to use a LOT of throttle control or it'll bite you hard. and on the street, there's no run off area most of the time, so you can quickly end up hitting something in a bad way.

and when it does manage to hook up, you'll go from 40-90 in a flash, so make sure you've got plenty of room to slow down again! it's like riding a superbike on accelleration - but still stops like a 4k lb shark, so it's easy to get behind it if you don't pay a lot of attention. cold tires are even worse, can be scarey to just to be a pax, and downright dangerous for everyone else. make friends w/the local cops before you start driving it...hahahaha

I'd love to share more pics with you guys, but some of it covers Greg's special-sauce innards, and I promised him to not be a leaker...

I figure just opening up the intake can't be too mysterious.

As for the motor, here's the latest (some choices evolved over time):

104mm custom pistons
Block bored to same and Nikasil plated
Custom H-box uber-strong rods
Custom forged stroker crank
Windage tray/screen/etc
A combination of GT and GTS cams
968 size valves
Lightweight lifters
Porting of pretty much everything inside
Unshrouding/matching of the internals
Stock intake and headers
X-pipe
twin-OBD-II cats
Big magnaflow rear mufflers
19 pound injectors (if I recall correctly)
Custom shark-tune dyno and chip work (hopefully happening this weekend)

New Bilsteins over stock springs
New S4 rotors, stainless lines, pads updated, bias valve tweak

I'm sure I'm missing some stuff, but that's a good summary

Roger that. Greg promised to make me fear first gear. Sounds like he'll do it.

Oh - and a constantine-clamp to keep the torque tube where it belongs instead of ruining all that crazy-expensive stuff I just had put into the motor:

Stock headers, hand built x-pipe, dual OBD2 cats, dual big magnaflows, then a pair of pipes to the rear...
